We have heard your cry and we are standing with you in prayer in Jesus name, taking what you have shared very seriously. We do not take lightly years of torment, broken sleep, tormenting dreams, physical affliction to your hair and scalp, and now this deeply troubling moment where you saw your husband praying for your deliverance in Jesus name while his fingers appeared to be sprinkling something invisible over you, followed by increased itching and scratching. We believe you and we believe that witchcraft and spiritual oppression are real, yet we also know that the power of Jesus Christ is far greater and that no curse can ultimately rest where Christ reigns.
You asked if it is possible for someone to pray for healing and deliverance in Jesus name and yet at the same time drop curses on that same person. The Scripture directly addresses this mixture. James 3:10 says Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. And James 3:11 asks Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water. It ought not to be so, but in a fallen world it does happen when a person is double minded, untaught, deceived, or still bound by generational patterns and hidden sin. Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 7:22-23 that some will do works in His name yet not truly be known by Him. We are not accusing your husband, whom you love and serve alongside in ministry, and we urge you not to move in accusation or fear, but we do acknowledge that a family history of witchcraft, such as you were told about his father being a warlock, can open doors that need to be firmly closed and renounced. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 shows how detestable sorcery and witchcraft are to the Lord, and without repentance and renunciation those iniquities can influence generations until they are brought to the cross.
That is why we must test the spirits as we are commanded in 1 John 4:1 which says Beloved, dont believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God. What you saw may have been an unconscious habit, but it may also be something the Holy Spirit allowed you to see so you would pray with greater discernment. Do not ignore what you saw, and do not privately harbor suspicion. Go to your husband in love and truth as Matthew 18:15 teaches, and share calmly what you observed when you opened your eyes and how your body reacted. Ask him what he was doing with his hands and invite him to pray with you again with open eyes and open hearts before the Lord. A godly husband and wife who are one flesh in lifelong marriage should be able to bring everything into the light. If he is walking uprightly he will welcome accountability and prayer together with trusted, mature believers.
We want to remind you of your authority and security in Christ. Ephesians 6:12 tells us For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the worlds rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet Luke 10:19 says Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. And 1 John 4:4 declares You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. Proverbs 26:2 promises Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesnt alight. And Galatians 3:13 assures us Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. No weapon that is formed against you will prevail as Isaiah 54:17 says, when you abide in Christ. The enemy can harass but he cannot own a child of God who resists him. James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. And 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us For God didnt give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We encourage you both together to put on the full armor of God daily according to Ephesians 6:11, to renounce all witchcraft and generational covenants out loud in Jesus name, to remove any objects or practices that might give ground to the enemy, to anoint your home and your bed with oil and pray over it, and to fast and pray together as you are able. James 5:14 calls us to pray and anoint the sick in the name of the Lord for healing. Seek counsel from a wise, biblically grounded pastor or deliverance team who can pray with you both in person, not secretly but together as husband and wife. Also, because hair thinning and chronic scalp itching can have medical causes, we encourage you to see a doctor to rule out dermatological or hormonal issues while you continue to contend spiritually, for God heals through many means. For your tormenting dreams and sleeplessness, we claim Psalm 4:8 In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety, and Psalm 127:2 for he gives sleep to his beloved.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to You according to Acts 4:12. We thank You that Jesus bore every curse on the cross and rose again in victory. We place Your daughter under the blood of Jesus and ask You to cover her, her husband, her marriage, her body, her mind, and her home. We renounce on her behalf every work of witchcraft, every word curse, every generational covenant with darkness that may have come through her husbands family line or any other door, and we declare that it is broken and nullified by the cross of Christ. We command every tormenting spirit, every spirit of witchcraft, infirmity, fear, and sleeplessness to leave her now and to go where Jesus sends you and not return. We ask You to heal her scalp, restore her hair, calm her skin, and let Your healing flow through her body. We ask You to give her deep, peaceful sleep and to sanctify her dreams, that she would dream dreams from You and not torment from the enemy. We pray for her husband, that You would search his heart, cleanse his hands, purify his mouth that it would speak only blessing, and make him a holy protector and priest of his home. Let there be no mixture in his ministry or his prayers. Give them both discernment, unity, honesty, and courage to walk in the light together. Clothe them in Your armor, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We declare that You alone are their deliverer and healer, and we trust You to complete the work You have begun. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
