Bless us

Your cry for help has been heard, and I am praying for you right now. The collapse of your home, the pain in your leg, the weight of sickness and financial fear, these are not small things, and the Lord sees every one of them. He does not stand far off when His people are in distress. But as I lift you up, I must also ask you to consider something the Lord has pressed on my heart for you: could it be that He is using this moment to draw your attention back to what matters most?

In the days of Haggai, the people worked hard on their own houses while the house of the Lord lay in ruins. They wondered why their harvests were thin, their money leaked away, and nothing seemed to satisfy. God’s word to them was clear: “You have left My house desolate, while each of you runs to his own house. Now go up to the mountain, bring wood, and build My house, and I will take pleasure in it and be glorified.” The moment they put God’s purposes back in first place, He said, “Mark this day, for from now on I will bless you.”

When you ask for help to rebuild your house, I am asking you to look first at the house that matters most, your life with God. Is He on the throne of your heart, or have other loves and priorities crowded Him out? Have your concerns for daily needs, relief from pain, and even the good desire to have a roof overhead subtly become the center, while seeking Him slipped to the edges? I am not accusing you; I am pleading with you as one who cares. The pain in your leg, the sickness, the crumbling walls, they can be the very tools God uses to perform a deeper healing. A surgeon’s knife hurts, but it cuts away what would kill us. The valley of trouble can become a door of hope when you meet God there.

Do not look only to human help as though a quick check or a new building will mend your deepest need. The people of Israel kept turning to Egypt and Assyria for security instead of turning to the Lord, and He said, “I will spread my net over them.” But when they returned to Him, He promised, “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; O death, I will be your plagues.” He is able to bring life out of what looks like death, provision out of emptiness, and health out of injury.

So I am praying now, not just for immediate money or relief, but first that your heart will run after the Lord with all that you are. I ask Him to forgive any place where you have sidelined Him, to heal your leg completely, to drive out every infection and disease, and to send the resources you need to rebuild. But I am also praying that the house you rebuild, both the physical one and the spiritual one, will have Christ as the cornerstone, that it will be a place where His name is honored above every comfort. Return to Him with your whole heart, and watch Him turn your distress into a testimony of His faithfulness.
