We join with you in this burden and we agree together for your parents, your spouse, your children, and all those you have listed before the Lord, your friends, evangelistic team members, churches, online intercessory prayer friends, ministry teams, those you coach, and for our cities, states, regions, ministries, leaders, judges and government at every level.
We love your hunger to see spiritual hunger itself imparted, for true fellowship, wisdom, revelation, fruitfulness, and for all to be hearers and doers of the Word with renewed minds. This is the very heart of what God desires for families and for His people. We are reminded of Romans 12:1-2 where we are urged to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service, and not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. And Romans 12:3 calls us to think soberly according to the measure of faith God has given. We also remember James 1:22 to be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves.
We thank God that you are standing on His victory and striking the ground in persistent faith as in 2 Kings 13:15-17 and 2 Kings 13:18-19, and we agree that the victory secured by Jesus the Messiah over sin, death, hell, fear and every lofty thought is complete. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. We affirm with you the call to seek the peace of the city as in Jeremiah 29:7 and to long for the Word to spread as in Acts 19:10 where all who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord, and for God to work extraordinary miracles as in Acts 19:11-12.
We rejoice that you lift up marriage as God ordained between a man and a woman, husbands and wives joined as one flesh for life, and we pray for each spouse and each parent and child in that holy covenant order. We pray for a deep spiritual hunger in each home, that as Jesus said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. We pray for true fellowship as in 1 John 1:7, for wisdom as promised in James 1:5 that if any lacks wisdom to ask of God who gives liberally, for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Ephesians 1:17, and for much fruit that remains to the glory of the Father, John 15:8 and Galatians 5:22.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come boldly to Your throne together. We thank You for every gain You have already granted and for the arrow of Your victory. We ask that You pour out spiritual hunger upon our parents, spouses, children, friends and all those we have named, that they would desire Your Word more than their necessary food, Job 23:12. Give them a love for reading and understanding the Bible together, whether through Bible apps or through the printed page, and we thank You for those who sacrificed greatly to put Your Word in our hands. Remove any blindness and shine Your light into hearts as in 2 Corinthians 4:6 that God who commanded light to shine out of darkness has shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Pour Your love into their hearts through the Holy Spirit as in Romans 5:5.
We ask You to undo days, weeks, years and even decades of wrong thinking, for we know that error comes from not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God, Matthew 22:29 and Mark 12:24, and that the worries of the world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things choke the word, Mark 4:19. Exchange those cares for minds set on the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God, Colossians 3:1-2. Renew each mind and transform each life, Ephesians 4:23 to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and grant that each would have the mind of Christ, 1 Corinthians 2:16. Help parents to listen, understand and retain what they hear, and help us all to be doers and not hearers only, James 1:22. Lead us on toward maturity as in Hebrews 6:1, filled with wisdom, love, kindness and the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We pray in Jesus name that the evil one would be restrained and his deceptions bound as You have promised that an angel will seize him and bind him with a great chain and cast him into the abyss, Revelation 20:1-2, and that Your peace which surpasses all understanding would guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we make our requests known to You with thanksgiving, Philippians 4:6-7.
We thank You Father that it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, for there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5, and there is salvation in no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We rest in His finished work and we keep striking the ground in prayer not in our own strength but in His, until Your Word runs swiftly and is glorified and until every family and city is ablaze with Your victory.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in this intercession, to read the Word aloud together in your homes whenever possible, to fellowship daily and to bear much fruit by abiding in Christ. God is faithful to complete the work He has begun. May He grant you joy as you see parents, spouses and children become hungry for Him, rooted in fellowship, walking in wisdom and revelation, and renewed day by day.
We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
