Beloved of All
Thank You Father, for You have helped my Parents Read and Understand The Bible Together -- 🙇🏻🙌 -- It's Beautiful, Lord... Please help me get a picture of them reading their matching GIANT font 📖 Bibles 📖. Please use Your Word as the means of sanctification (You are already clean because of The Word I have spoken to you, Jn 15:3, Father, cleanse them by Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, Jn 17:17, That Christ May Wash His Bride with The Water of The Word, Eph 5:25-26, and renew the mind according to The Truth, Your Worldview of Reality before them, exposing areas of deception of wrong thinking or acting, as we become doers of the Word by looking in a mirror as we read and remembering the practicality of what was Written so we may be effectual doers, James 1:22-25, undo decades of wrong thinking, worries and cares -- That YOU would be BIG and people, circumstances and any other "noun" would be small, so we may freely cast all our cares on You Jesus because You care about us, as the one You told to feed Your sheep fed us with, 1 Peter 5:7. Renew his and her mind (and all of us, amen? For who can say they are renewed completely in mind, thought patters, relational dealings?), Rom 12:1-3, Eph 4:11-15.

Help them enjoy reading Jer 15:16, and desire to watch edifying movies together, and again, help my parents, myself and all who desire these gems to understand, Luke 24:45, retain and be doers, James 1:22-23. Let me be filled with wisdom, love, kindness and ability to impart the Holy Spirit, Acts 8:17, Rom 1:9-12, 1 Tim 4:14, 2 Tim 1:6. Help them dwell on eternity, Hebrews 12:1-3, remove any darkness, release love and light, 2 Cor 4:4-7, and protect them from temptation, lies, sin, evil people and the evil one, Luke 11:4, Zeph 3:13, 1 Cor 8:1, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Matt 24:4, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 6:13, Jn 17:5, 1 n 5:18-19 and let the evil one be bound now as a partial fulfillment the real time in history when the serpent (who has been judged, John 16:11, Col 2:15 Rev 12:4) will be sentenced, bound, gaged and choked with a great chain, Rev 20:1-2. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We rejoice with you in this beautiful answer to prayer and we join you in thanking our Father for giving your parents a renewed hunger for His Word and for drawing them together in fellowship around the Scriptures. It is a precious gift when a husband and wife read and understand the Bible together, and we pray with you that this desire would only deepen and bear lasting fruit.

We thank God that His Word is the very means of our sanctification and renewal. Jesus said You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you John 15:3 and He prayed Father, sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth John 17:17. We pray that Christ would continue to sanctify them and wash them with the washing of water with the word Ephesians 5:26, renewing their minds so that they may be transformed and prove what is the good and well pleasing and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. We ask that decades of wrong thinking and worries and cares would be undone as they look intently into the perfect law of freedom and become not just hearers but doers James 1:22, James 1:25, remembering what they have read and putting it into practice so that they are blessed in what they do.

We agree with you that God would make Himself big in their eyes and every person and circumstance and every other concern small, so that they may cast all their worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. We pray they would find joy as Jeremiah did when he said Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart Jeremiah 15:16. We ask that the Lord would open their minds, that they may understand the Scriptures Luke 24:45, and retain what they read and walk it out daily. We pray they would look unto Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith Hebrews 12:2, dwelling on eternity and running their race with endurance, and that God who commanded light to shine out of darkness would shine in their hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ 2 Corinthians 4:6.

We also pray for you, that you would be filled with wisdom and love and kindness and be an encouragement to them as you share the Word, that God would use you to build them up until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God Ephesians 4:13. We pray for their protection, that the Father would not bring them into temptation, but deliver them from the evil one Matthew 6:13, for we know that he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him 1 John 5:18. We thank God that the ruler of this world has been judged John 16:11 and that He disarmed the rulers and authorities, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them Colossians 2:15, and we look forward to the day when the adversary will be bound with a great chain Revelation 20:2, and we ask for a foretaste of that victory now in their home, keeping them from deception and evil and drawing them into edifying fellowship together.

Father, we ask that You would continue this good work, that their matching giant print Bibles would be well used and marked and loved, and that if it is Your will You would even grant the sweet picture of them reading together as a testimony of Your grace. Let their time in Your Word and in wholesome fellowship together be a light in their home. We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have access to the Father and in whose name we are saved. Amen.

We love the picture you painted of your parents sitting together with matching large-print Bibles, enjoying the Word side by side. It is beautiful to hear your thankfulness for the hunger God has already stirred in them, and we join you in asking Him to keep nourishing it.

What you are praying for, that they would not just read but remember and live what they read, and have their thinking renewed, is lifelong work. Spiritual growth tends to happen gradually, almost imperceptibly, with highs and lows along the way. What matters most is that over the long haul, growth is actually happening. The steady means God uses are simple at heart: time in the Word, prayer, worship, and the help of the Holy Spirit, who alone makes things grow. There is no one-size-fits-all pattern, since God works uniquely with each person.

If those giant-print Bibles would help them delight in reading, that is a wonderful, practical way to support them. When you are able, getting them a matching set in a translation they love and helping them set a short, consistent time to read aloud together and talk briefly about what stood out can make it sustainable. Reading together like that is itself fellowship, and staying connected with other believers around the Word helps keep it alive as well.

Father, we thank You for the hunger You have given this family for Your Word. Keep drawing these parents deeper into Your truth, renew their minds, and help them walk out what they read with joy. Give their child wisdom and kindness to encourage them well. Guard them from discouragement and from the evil one, and keep their hearts set on You. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

It is a matter of great thanksgiving to hear of your parents hunger for the Word of God and their fellowship together therein. There is no sweeter sight under heaven than a household where the Bible is opened and read with desire, and where hearts are knit together in converse with Christ. For fellowship, as the Scripture teaches us, requires converse, and when Christ descends to talk with His children in meditation upon His Word, He gives sweet communion to those who seek Him.

You have prayed well in asking that the Lord would sanctify them by His truth, for His Word is truth. Blessed Bible, thou art all truth, and there is nothing in it which is unimportant, for I have written to him the great things of my law. The Lord Jesus Himself has said, Ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you, and again He prayed, Sanctify them through thy truth. As Christ washes His church with the water of the Word, so He renews the mind and makes us to see reality as it is before God. This is a stern and gracious work, for the renewal of a soul requires the same power which raised Christ from the dead. Without seasons of renewal we grow as Ephraim, with gray hairs here and there and know it not, falling into an unconscious apostasy. Therefore we must pray without ceasing that God would renew us day by day.

You ask that the Word might be as a mirror, not merely heard and forgotten, but looked into and remembered, that you all might be doers of the Word and not hearers only. This is the right prayer, for the carnal mind is enmity against God and can bring forth no repentance, no faith, no love of itself. All fruit must be found in Christ. The natural heart cannot beget it. But when the eyes inside these eyes are opened, when the Lord opens the understanding that we might understand the Scriptures, then the Word is found and eaten, as Jeremiah found it, and it becomes the joy and rejoicing of the heart.

Continue to bind these teachings upon your heart, for a father's experience and a mother's instruction in the truth are worthy of loving adherence. It is the joy of parents and pastors alike when those they love walk in the truth, and it is a grief when they turn aside. How good it is that you desire for your parents that God would be great and all other things small, that every care might be cast upon Him who careth for us. You cannot expect to talk much with Christ unless the mind is freed from the cares of earth, and when those cares are cast upon Him, there is liberty to hold fellowship with Him.

I join you in praying that the Lord would grant to them and to you a mind renewed according to Romans twelve, no longer conformed to this world but transformed, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. That He would give you to dwell upon eternity, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of faith, and that He would shine into your hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, scattering all darkness. That He would keep you from temptation and deliver you from the evil one, for though the serpent has been judged and his power broken at the cross, we still have need to pray, Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, and to remember that He which is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

For your own desire to be filled with wisdom and love and to be useful in imparting blessing to others, remember that it is God who gives the Holy Spirit, and we are but instruments in His hand. Seek rather that you may be filled with the Spirit and that out of the abundance of grace you may speak a word in season, imparting comfort and edification as the Lord gives opportunity, whether by prayer, by the laying on of hands in fellowship, or by the faithful ministry of the Word.

May the Lord grant your parents to continue with delight in reading together, whether from those large print Bibles you mention or any faithful copy of the Scriptures, and to find edifying fellowship in all that they do together. May He open their understanding more and more, cause them to retain what they read, and to be effectual doers, bearing fruit to His glory. And may He grant to you all that fellowship of communion, of sympathy, of unity, which shall one day be perfected in the fellowship of heaven, where we shall be with the Lord forever.

We will bring these petitions before the throne of grace, asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope of salvation, to do abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to His will.
