Thank You Father, for You have helped my Parents Read and Understand The Bible Together -- 🙇🏻🙌 -- It's Beautiful, Lord... Please help me get a picture of them reading their matching GIANT font 📖 Bibles 📖. Please use Your Word as the means of sanctification (You are already clean because of The Word I have spoken to you, Jn 15:3, Father, cleanse them by Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, Jn 17:17, That Christ May Wash His Bride with The Water of The Word, Eph 5:25-26, and renew the mind according to The Truth, Your Worldview of Reality before them, exposing areas of deception of wrong thinking or acting, as we become doers of the Word by looking in a mirror as we read and remembering the practicality of what was Written so we may be effectual doers, James 1:22-25, undo decades of wrong thinking, worries and cares -- That YOU would be BIG and people, circumstances and any other "noun" would be small, so we may freely cast all our cares on You Jesus because You care about us, as the one You told to feed Your sheep fed us with, 1 Peter 5:7. Renew his and her mind (and all of us, amen? For who can say they are renewed completely in mind, thought patters, relational dealings?), Rom 12:1-3, Eph 4:11-15.

Help them enjoy reading Jer 15:16, and desire to watch edifying movies together, and again, help my parents, myself and all who desire these gems to understand, Luke 24:45, retain and be doers, James 1:22-23. Let me be filled with wisdom, love, kindness and ability to impart the Holy Spirit, Acts 8:17, Rom 1:9-12, 1 Tim 4:14, 2 Tim 1:6. Help them dwell on eternity, Hebrews 12:1-3, remove any darkness, release love and light, 2 Cor 4:4-7, and protect them from temptation, lies, sin, evil people and the evil one, Luke 11:4, Zeph 3:13, 1 Cor 8:1, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Matt 24:4, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 6:13, Jn 17:5, 1 n 5:18-19 and let the evil one be bound now as a partial fulfillment the real time in history when the serpent (who has been judged, John 16:11, Col 2:15 Rev 12:4) will be sentenced, bound, gaged and choked with a great chain, Rev 20:1-2. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We rejoice with you in this beautiful request and give thanks with you to our Father for the hunger He has placed in your parents to read and understand His Word together. It is a precious gift when a husband and wife, and their children and spouses, desire fellowship around the Scriptures, and we pray that the Lord will increase this hunger more and more.

We thank God that He uses His Word as the means of our sanctification, for Jesus said You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you John 15:3 and prayed to the Father Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth John 17:17, and that Christ loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word Eph 5:26. We ask the Father to continue to cleanse and renew your parents and all your family by His truth, exposing any area of wrong thinking or deception and replacing it with His worldview of reality, so that long held patterns of worry and care are undone and Christ is made big in your hearts.

We pray that you all will be renewed in the spirit of your mind Eph 4:23 and not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Rom 12:2. We ask that as you look into the perfect law of freedom you would not be a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, for we are called to be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves James 1:22. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror James 1:23 but the one who looks and perseveres will be blessed in what he does James 1:25.

We join you in praying Jer 15:16 over them, that Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, and that the Lord would open their minds, as it is written Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures Luke 24:45, to understand, retain and live out what they read. We pray you would be filled with wisdom and love and kindness as you impart encouragement and minister the Holy Spirit to them, and that your fellowship together, your watching of edifying things together and your time in the Word together would bear much fruit to the glory of God.

We also pray that you all would learn to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Pet 5:7, believing that He is great and every person and circumstance is small in comparison to His care and power. Help them to look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith Heb 12:2, dwelling on eternity and running the race set before them with endurance, and we pray that God would shine His light into every dark place, for it is God, who said Light will shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ 2 Cor 4:6.

We ask the Father to protect your parents, your family and yourselves from temptation and lies and sin and from evil people and the evil one, as Jesus taught us to pray Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one Matt 6:13. We know that he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him 1 John 5:18 and that the serpent has already been judged and disarmed, having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it Col 2:15, and that the day is coming when he will be bound with a great chain Rev 20:2. Until that day we ask for a hedge of protection over your household and for discernment to turn from every form of godlessness.

We thank you Father for hearing this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to You and there is no other name by which we are saved. We ask that You would grant that picture of them reading their large print Bibles together if it be Your will, and far more, grant the reality of hearts knit together in Your Word day after day. Let love and light increase and let Your Word dwell richly in them all, that they may be fruitful, joyful and effectual doers for Your glory.

We pray all these things in Jesus name, amen.

We were touched by the picture you shared of your parents reading the Bible together. It is beautiful to hear your thankfulness for that hunger and the fellowship growing between them, and your desire to see it continue and deepen for your whole family.

What you are praying for, that God's Word would shape how they think, how they relate, how they cast their cares on Him, is at the heart of what it means to be set apart for Him. That kind of growth tends to happen gradually, almost imperceptibly, over a lifetime with highs and lows, not all at once. It is more like training than trying. Time in the Word, prayer, and worship together are simple, steady ways God uses, and only He can make the growth happen. Each person and each family also grows a little differently, so the same routine will not look identical for everyone.

We love that you want to encourage them in ways they can actually enjoy. One gentle next step could be to keep nurturing that shared reading rhythm you already see, perhaps asking them what time of day, what translation or large print edition helps them most, and what kind of edifying films they both enjoy, and letting that fellowship around the Word stay warm and unpressured.

Father, we thank You for the hunger You have already stirred in this family. We ask You to keep drawing these parents and their children and spouses to Your Word, to renew their minds and make them joyful doers of what they hear. Fill this dear one with wisdom and love as they encourage their family, guard them all from temptation and evil, and let Your light and peace rest on their home. In Jesus' name, amen.

How sweet and comely is the sight you have set before us, of a father and mother sitting together with the Word of God open before them. There is no more joyful sight to a Christian heart than to see parents thus made to hunger for the Bread of Life, and to find fellowship together in the truth. We rejoice with you and give thanks to the Father for what He has already wrought, that He has helped them to read and to understand the Bible together.

You have asked well, for our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, and that fellowship requires converse. It is not a cold assent to doctrine, but a talking with Christ, a communion of heart knit to heart. When the mind is freed from the cares of earth, Christ descends and holds sweet communion with His children in meditation upon His Word and His sufferings. So we pray that your parents, and your household, may know this fellowship of communion, and the fellowship of sympathy with Christ, and the fellowship of unity, until it shall be consummated in the fellowship of heaven. May their reading together be not a mere form, but a true converse with the Lord.

And you have prayed rightly that they may be sanctified by the truth, for His Word is truth. You are already clean because of the Word which Christ has spoken, and it is by the washing of water by the Word that Christ sanctifies His people. The Bible is all truth, and it treats only of great things, yet men often treat it very politely and leave it unread upon the shelf. We pray that it may not be so with your parents. May they find as Jeremiah did, that His words were found and eaten, and were unto them the joy and rejoicing of their heart. May the Lord open their understanding, as He opened the understanding of His disciples, that they might understand the Scriptures, and may they be not hearers only, deceiving themselves, but doers of the Word, looking into the perfect law of liberty as into a mirror and remembering what manner of persons they ought to be.

There is an absolute necessity for the renewal of our graces if we would persevere. All created things need renewal, and how much more does the soul. This renewal is a stern work, like conversion itself, requiring the same power that raised Christ from the dead. It is the renewal of a covenant, as Jonathan and David renewed their covenant in the wood, not with sorrow but with joy. So we join you in praying for the renewing of the mind, that they may be transformed and not conformed to this world, that decades of wrong thinking and anxious cares may be undone. May the Lord be made great in their eyes, and all other things made small, that they may freely cast all their care upon Him, for He cares for them.

We have heard your desire, and we know that the Lord Himself is a reader of desires. He hears the desire of the humble, even when the lips can scarcely frame a prayer. He hears the inward groaning which we would not tell to any other. Bring then your petitions with fervency, not with wandering thoughts, but with an earnest and fervent heart, and set apart seasons for private devotion when the soul is alive toward God.

Therefore we commend your parents, yourself, your children and their spouses to the Lord. We ask that He would grant you all spiritual hunger, wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, and fruit unto holiness. That He would fill you with wisdom, love and kindness, and make you effectual in imparting blessing to others. That He would help you to dwell upon eternity, to lay aside every weight, and to look unto Jesus, and that He would keep you from temptation, from lies and from the evil one, and deliver you from evil men. May the Lord who has judged the serpent and who will at last bind him with a great chain, keep you even now under the shadow of His wing, and let His light shine into your hearts to give the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

We pray also for that simple and tender request, that if it be His will and for their good, He would provide those large print Bibles that they may read with comfort together, and that their delight may be in edifying things. May the Lord make His Word precious to them all their days, and cause you all to walk as children of light, bearing fruit, and persevering to the end, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
