Thank you for sharing your heart and bringing these needs before the Lord. It is good to place the ordinary days of the week and the special moments of a weekend and an upcoming event in His hands and ask for His care.
We pray that the Lord will keep you safe and grant you cool and refreshing days as you go to this event, that you will know His presence with you and have a truly blessed time. We ask Him to watch over you as you go and as you return and to give you peace in all you do.
You also asked for protection and healing for loved ones and friends. We do believe that God heals. Scripture shows that Jesus healed in many different ways, sometimes instantly with a touch or a word, sometimes gradually, sometimes by going to the person and sometimes from a distance. In other cases healing comes through the natural processes that God Himself placed within our bodies, and that is no less divine because He is the one who created those processes. He also brings healing to the mind and heart where there are wounds and scars. He is not limited to one pattern.
The prophet Isaiah said that He has borne our sicknesses and infirmities, and the Gospel of Matthew applies that to the healing work of Jesus. That reminds us that His compassion reaches both our spiritual need for salvation through Jesus alone and our physical needs.
At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. Scripture does not teach that God wills to heal in the same way or at the same time in every case, and it is wrong to say that a person is not healed because of a lack of faith or because of sin in their life. We come instead with simple trust, knowing that God is able, asking with faith, and leaving the outcome in His wise and loving hands. He receives those who come seeking help with compassion.
So we bring your loved ones and friends to Him now and ask for His healing touch where it is needed, for strength and comfort, for restoration in body and mind, and for His protection over each one. May He guard you all and draw you closer to Jesus.
We join you in praying for a safe, cool and blessed week and weekend, and we trust the Lord to do what is best according to His perfect will.
In Jesus name, Amen.
