We rejoice with you in the joy and excitement of this new season of love and companionship that the Lord has brought into your life. It is beautiful to see your heart overflowing with gratitude and hope as you anticipate the future God is weaving for you and this man He has placed in your path. We lift up this relationship before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to guide, protect, and bless it according to His perfect will.
First, we must address the foundation of any relationship that seeks to honor God: it must be built on Christ alone. You have rightly invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, and we affirm that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord together, making Him the cornerstone of your relationship. As you move toward marriage, let your love be rooted in Him, for a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12).
We also want to gently remind you of the biblical principles that govern relationships and marriage. The Lord has designed marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a lifelong commitment that reflects the love of Christ for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). As you prepare for holy matrimony, we encourage you both to pursue purity in your relationship. The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is a gift reserved for marriage (Hebrews 13:4). Flee from sexual immorality, for it is a sin against your own body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Let your courtship be marked by holiness, self-control, and a deep reverence for God’s design for marriage.
We also lift up your desire for children and financial blessing. Children are indeed a heritage from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward (Psalm 127:3). We pray that the Lord would open your womb in His perfect timing and bless you with healthy, godly children who will rise up and call you blessed. As for your finances, we encourage you to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). Let your hearts not be set on riches, but on the Lord, who provides for all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the love You have placed in this sister’s life. Lord, we thank You for the beautiful man You have brought into her path, and we ask that You would anoint this relationship with Your presence. Let their love be a reflection of Your love—selfless, pure, and enduring. Father, we pray that You would write their love story according to Your perfect will, that it would bring glory to Your name and be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
Lord, we ask that You would guard their hearts and minds as they prepare for marriage. Let them both be rooted and grounded in Your Word, seeking Your wisdom and guidance in every decision. Protect them from temptation, and help them to honor You with their bodies, minds, and spirits. May their courtship be a time of growth, prayer, and preparation for the sacred covenant of marriage.
Father, we lift up their desire for children. We ask that You would bless their union with the fruit of the womb in Your perfect timing. May their home be filled with laughter, love, and the presence of godly offspring who will serve You all the days of their lives.
Lord, we also pray for Your provision in their finances. Teach them to be good stewards of what You have entrusted to them, and let their hearts be content in You alone. Bless their hands with work that honors You, and provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would bind them together in love, unity, and purpose. Let their marriage be a light to the world, pointing others to the love of Christ. May they grow together in faith, love, and holiness, always seeking Your face and following Your will.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord together, studying His Word, and surrounding yourselves with godly counsel as you prepare for marriage. Let your relationship be a testament to His goodness and grace, and may it always bring honor to His name. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
