We come before the throne of grace with your heartfelt request, lifting up your husband, your son, and you to our Heavenly Father. We recognize the deep love and concern you have for your family, and we join with you in seeking God’s intervention and healing in every area of your lives.
First, we must address the foundation of our prayers, our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" There is no other name by which we can approach God or receive salvation. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we find true healing, peace, and eternal life.
Now, let us lift up your husband’s struggles with drinking and smoking. These habits not only harm his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), but they also grieve the heart of God. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare freedom over him. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that God will give your husband the strength to resist these temptations and turn away from them completely. Father, we ask that You remove the desire for alcohol and tobacco from his life and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Heal his body from the effects of these substances, particularly his teeth and mouth, and restore him to full health. Give him restful and rejuvenating sleep, free from the disturbances that these habits may bring.
We also lift up the spiritual attacks you feel are coming against your family, what you describe as "evil eyes." The Bible warns us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We stand against every scheme of the enemy and declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for a hedge of protection around you, your husband, and your son, that no harm or evil intent would touch you. Cover your home with the blood of Jesus and fill it with Your peace, Lord.
We bring your financial struggles before the Lord, trusting in His promise to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We rebuke the spirit of lack and declare that God is your provider. We pray that He would open doors of opportunity for you, give you wisdom in managing your finances, and release you from the burden of debt. Help your husband to be a good steward of the resources God entrusts to him, and give him the discipline to walk in financial freedom. We also pray for your work situation, asking that God would make a way for you to work from home if it aligns with His will for your life. May your work be fulfilling, prosperous, and glorifying to Him.
Your concerns about your mother-in-law and in-laws are heavy on your heart, and we lift them up as well. It is written in Proverbs 20:22, "Don’t say, 'I will pay back evil.' Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you." We pray that God would soften hearts, reveal truth, and bring healing to these relationships. Give your husband discernment to see situations clearly and wisdom to respond in a way that honors God. Protect your marriage from any division or strife that may come from outside influences, and help you and your husband to stand united in Christ.
We pray for the deepening of love, trust, and bonding between you, your husband, and your son. May your home be filled with the love of Christ, which is patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Help your husband to lead your family with godly wisdom and tenderness, and may your son grow up knowing the love of his parents and the love of his Heavenly Father. Strengthen your marriage, Lord, and let it be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:25).
For your cats, we ask that God would watch over them and keep them healthy. While they are not made in God’s image like humans, we know that the Lord cares for all His creation, and we ask that He would bless them with well-being and protect them from harm.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and trust in Your power to heal, restore, and protect. We lift up this family to You, asking that You would move mightily in their lives. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare freedom for this husband from the bondage of alcohol and smoking. Heal his body, restore his health, and give him the strength to walk away from these habits. Fill him with a desire for You and a hunger for righteousness.
Father, we ask for Your protection over this family. Guard their hearts, minds, and bodies from every attack of the enemy. Remove every burden of debt, anxiety, and depression, and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Provide for their every need, both financially and emotionally, and open doors of opportunity that no man can shut.
Lord, we pray for healing in their relationships. Soften the hearts of their in-laws and reveal truth where there is deception. Strengthen the bond between this husband and wife, and deepen their love and trust in one another. May their son grow up in a home filled with Your love and grace.
We ask for Your blessing over their work and daily lives. Make a way for this wife to work from home if it is Your will, and bless her efforts abundantly. Watch over their pets and keep them safe from harm.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for this family. May they draw closer to You each day and experience the fullness of life that comes from walking in Your ways. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
