Blasphemous thoughts

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me. I am struggling from extreme blasphemous thoughts and am in need of healing. I’ve also been having bad dreams at night sometimes. Please pray for me that I am healed and delivered of this.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. I ask this for them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the spiritual battle you are facing, but we take heart knowing that our Lord Jesus Christ has already overcome the world, and through Him, you too can find victory. The enemy seeks to torment believers with blasphemous thoughts, nightmares, and fear, but we stand firm on the promise that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). These thoughts are not from you—they are fiery darts of the evil one, meant to shake your faith and steal your peace. But *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, WEB).

First, we must remind you that your struggle does not define your standing with God. If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit, and nothing—*not even these tormenting thoughts*—can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). The fact that these thoughts distress you is evidence that your heart belongs to Christ, for the unregenerate do not grieve over blasphemy. Reject the lie that you are beyond God’s grace or that these thoughts make you unworthy. Instead, cling to the truth: *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). Even if these thoughts feel involuntary, bring them to the Lord in repentance, trusting His blood to cleanse you.

Now, let us address the spiritual warfare at hand. Blasphemous thoughts and nightmares are often the work of demonic oppression, and we must resist the devil *firmly* in the name of Jesus. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith"* (1 Peter 5:8-9, WEB). You are not powerless—you have authority in Christ to rebuke these attacks. When these thoughts arise, *speak aloud* the name of Jesus and command the enemy to flee. Declare Scripture over yourself, such as: *"The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"* (Hebrews 13:6, WEB) or *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Fill your mind with worship music, the reading of God’s Word, and prayer. Starve the enemy of a foothold by refusing to entertain or dwell on these thoughts, no matter how persistent they may be.

As for the nightmares, we encourage you to pray over your sleep, asking the Lord to guard your mind and heart. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones"* (Psalm 127:1-2, WEB). Before you sleep, put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and ask the Holy Spirit to fill your dreams with His peace. You might also anoint your home with oil (a symbol of the Holy Spirit’s presence) and pray over your bedroom, declaring it a place of rest and protection in Jesus’ name.

Lastly, we urge you to examine your spiritual life for any open doors the enemy may be exploiting. Are there unconfessed sins, ungodly influences (such as media, music, or relationships), or a lack of fellowship with believers? *"Don’t give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:27, WEB). Repent of anything that may be giving the enemy legal ground, and surround yourself with mature Christians who can pray with you and hold you accountable. If you are not already in a Bible-believing church, we strongly encourage you to find one where you can be discipled and strengthened in your faith.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your beloved child who is under attack by the forces of darkness. Lord, You know the depths of their suffering, and You see the torment they endure. We ask You to break every chain of blasphemous thoughts and nightmares that the enemy has placed upon them. By the blood of Jesus, we rebuke every demonic spirit assigned to oppress them—spirits of blasphemy, fear, torment, and confusion—and we command them to flee in Jesus’ name. Father, fill this precious one with Your Holy Spirit, that their mind may be renewed and guarded by Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we ask for healing and deliverance. Let Your truth flood their heart and cast out every lie of the enemy. Remind them that they are Your child, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Give them the strength to resist the devil, knowing that he must flee (James 4:7). Cover their dreams with Your presence, Lord, and let them sleep in safety under the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 91:4).

We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Spirit, that they may walk in victory and boldness, unshaken by the schemes of the evil one. Surround them with godly community and Your Word, that they may be equipped to stand firm. Father, let this trial become a testimony of Your power and faithfulness. We declare that You are their Deliverer, their Strong Tower, and their Refuge. In the name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of oppression and declare *freedom* over their life.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your promises and rest in Your sovereignty. May Your will be done in their life, and may You receive all the glory. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will not let you be overcome. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, resist the devil, and trust that the God who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6). If these attacks persist, do not hesitate to seek prayer from mature believers or a pastor who can stand with you in this battle. You are not alone—we are praying for you, and the Lord is fighting for you. *"The Lord your God is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing"* (Zephaniah 3:17, WEB). Cling to Him, and you *will* overcome.

We're here for you, dear friend. We've been praying for you and we want you to know that you're not alone in this battle. We believe that God is greater than any blasphemous thought or nightmare, and He's fighting for you.

We want to encourage you to keep holding onto the truth of God's Word. Remember, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:6). God is with you, and He will not let you be overcome.

Let's claim these promises together:

1. "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
2. "The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." (Psalm 121:7-8)

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our dear friend who is struggling with blasphemous thoughts and nightmares. Lord, we ask You to fill them with Your Holy Spirit, casting out every fear and doubt. Remind them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Give them the strength to resist the enemy, and fill their dreams with Your peace. Lord, we ask that You would heal and deliver them, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Keep fighting the good fight, dear one. We're cheering you on, and we believe in your victory through Jesus Christ.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
