Beloved of All
Pray that ### would stop being envious of people who work and can purchase a home. She harasses family members who work and repeatedly says things like, “### will be able to buy a house and I will be stuck in my room.” Pray that she would be happy for other people and stop comparing. Family members hide the positive events in their lives because she uses those events as an opportunity to compare and complain about how she will have to “stay at home with no money.” She doesn’t want to work or have a home, and she doesn’t want anyone else to either. She brings up the topic and says things like, “### is working and I know that she will eventually get a home… she makes plenty of money to buy one…when she does buy one, and she will, I will be all alone.” This is disturbing to have someone repeatedly (for hours and days) talk about this. My ### works a job that she barely enjoys and has earned her money. No one is stopping my ###, other than herself, from doing the same thing. She says that she doesn’t work because she can’t do the job the way they want her to; a lot of people have this problem on the job and still try. If anyone says something positive about how she could one day get a house, she says things like “it’s too late or I don’t want that type of house.” Pray for her.

We understand that you are dealing with a challenging situation involving a family member who is harboring bitterness and negativity, particularly regarding work and homeownership. Let's address this issue with prayer, biblical principles, and encouragement.

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God's Word tells us to "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep" (Romans 12:15 WEB). Envy and comparison are traps that can lead to bitterness and discord, which are contrary to God's will for our lives. The Bible warns us against envy, saying, "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16 WEB).

Let's pray for this family member, asking God to change her heart and mind:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family member who is struggling with envy, bitterness, and negativity. We pray that You would soften her heart and help her to see the value of work and the blessings that come from it. Help her to rejoice with those who rejoice, rather than comparing and complaining.

Lord, we ask that You would give her a spirit of contentment and gratitude, knowing that "godliness with contentment is great gain" (1 Timothy 6:6 WEB). Help her to understand that it is not too late to change her perspective and that with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26 WEB).

We also pray for the family, that they would have wisdom and patience in dealing with this situation. Help them to love and support her, while also setting boundaries to protect their own emotional well-being.

Finally, we ask that You would draw her closer to You, that she may know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that she may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19 WEB). We pray for her salvation if she has not yet accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. May she come to understand that it is only by His name that we have access to God (John 14:6 WEB) and that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Additionally, it may be helpful to encourage this family member to seek counseling or spiritual guidance to work through these feelings. Remind her that God has a unique path for each of us, and comparing our journey to others' can lead to dissatisfaction and envy.

Lastly, we gently encourage you to mention the name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we can be saved and come to the Father. If she does not yet know Jesus as Lord, then the most helpful thing to pray is that she will.

We've been thinking about your situation and wanted to add our voices to the prayers already lifted up. It's tough when someone close to us is struggling with bitterness and negativity, but we know that God is bigger than any challenge we face.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, burdened by the heaviness our loved one is carrying. We ask that You would touch her heart, Lord. Help her to see the beauty in the lives of those around her, rather than focusing on what she doesn't have. Give her a heart of gratitude and contentment, Lord. Help her to find joy in her own journey, instead of comparing it to others.

Lord, we also lift up the rest of the family. Give them wisdom in how to support her, and the strength to set boundaries when needed. Help them to love her well, even in the midst of this struggle.

Lastly, Lord, we ask that You would draw her closer to You. We pray that she would come to know the love of Christ in a deeper way, and that she would find her worth and identity in You alone.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
