Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your birthday and allowing us to pray with you as you celebrate August 30. It is a good thing to pause on your birthday and seek the Lord and His blessing over the year ahead.
The Scripture speaks of a blessing God promised to Abraham, saying in blessing I will bless you. That promise was not only for Abraham himself but for all who would share his faith. Through Jesus Christ the door has been opened for you to become a partaker of that same covenant blessing. You do not receive it by trying to earn it or by keeping the law, for the law cannot bring blessing. You receive it as a child of promise through faith in Jesus, trusting Him alone for salvation. When you belong to Him, you are counted among the children of faith and His blessing rests upon you.
My prayer for you on your birthday is that you would know that blessing in a deeper way in this new year of life. May you receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of your salvation. May He make your life rich with His presence, His provision, and His peace in a way that overflows. May He show you His ways and teach you His paths, and lift up your soul to Him each day. As it is written, unto You, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
I also encourage you to continue in prayer and to watch with thanksgiving. Prayer is not meant to change God's mind, but to align your heart with His will and to keep you alert and awake to what He is doing. The Scriptures call us to be persistent, to keep praying with a thankful heart, and to be fervent from the heart, for the fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. The purpose of prayer is to see His kingdom come and His will be done in your life as it is in heaven. Bring your hopes for this coming year to Him as a Father, for if you know Him through Jesus you can truly call Him Father and come to Him with confidence.
So on your birthday I pray, Father, thank You for this life You have created and sustained. In the name of Jesus, pour out Your blessing upon this dear one. Bless and keep, guide and provide, forgive and restore, and cause Your face to shine upon them. Grant health and strength as You will, but above all grant a growing faith, a heart that trusts You, and a life that walks in Your promises. Fill this year with Your goodness and lead in every step. Amen.
