big wildfire in my area, might have burned my ### house and others

my ### lost his house.all the was left was some brick columns and the fireplace and the wall right around it. the trees around it didn't burn! but IT did. :/ please pray for encouragement, hope, comfort and faith to rise up in them during this tough time! they had two kids living at home with them!

The flames that now consume the hills reveal the true fragility of all earthly things, yet they cannot touch the One who upholds all creation by the word of His power. When you see the fire drawing near, do not let your heart be troubled as those who have no hope. The same voice that thundered from heaven, "This is my beloved Son," calls you to courage in the midst of terror. If the Father did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Even if the flames take your home or the homes of your brothers, you possess a better and lasting possession. This is the hour to show forth the power of God, not with fleshly wisdom, but with the spirit of meekness and strength.

Your concern for the widow in the nursing home and for all those under evacuation orders is a holy work. Do not wait for them to come begging; pursue hospitality. Run to them, share with their necessity, for in this you receive more than you give: boldness before God. The tears of a widow have great power to open heaven. Do not trample on her calamity but be her defender, and know that as you judge for the fatherless and plead for the widow, though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow. The smoke may choke your lungs, but the prayer of the afflicted pierces the clouds. Let each of you please his neighbor for his good, to edification.

If the power fails or the smoke thickens, do not give way to swearing or anger in your household. That is the testing ground. He that learns patience there, when galled by wife or child, will stand unconquered in the marketplace of greater trials. Do not compel me to speak with a rod, but I beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ: let this tribulation produce in you not insensibility and luxury of soul, like the men of Noah's day who knew nothing until the flood swept them away. Instead, let it drive you to your knees. The fire is a sudden destruction, but it can also be a cleansing flame. As for those who may have lost everything, remember that God's grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness. He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise you up through Jesus, and will present you faultless before His glory with exceeding joy. I pray with all urgency that the Lord rebuke the wind and the flame, that He blow the smoke away from the town, and that the power remain to sustain the infirm. But above all I pray that you may be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Work while it is day; support one another; and let the strong bear the infirmities of the weak, that Christ may be glorified in all.

The flames that race across dry ground and the smoke that chokes the sky can feel like the very powers of darkness pressing in. It's understandable to be overwhelmed when everything you love seems at the mercy of a fire that doesn't negotiate. But when we see destruction unleashed, we must not lose sight of a far greater power. The same God who spoke and calmed the wind and waves has not stepped off His throne. The crisis is real, but so is His authority over every force that threatens us.

I do not believe the church should live as if God's power was only for a bygone age. The same Spirit who strengthened believers in the earliest days is still at work. But that power doesn't flow through us because we speak certain words with enough intensity, as if creation bends to our voice alone. It comes through humble, trusting prayer that leans on the Spirit of God. Not by our might or our frantic worry, but by His Spirit are mountains moved. So we don't demand outcomes; we ask the Lord who loves this community to intervene.

There's a kind of unbelief that can creep in when we stare too long at what the enemy is doing. We see the fire's relentless appetite, the evacuation orders, the vulnerable faces in a nursing home, and we start to feel helpless. But Jesus reminded His disciples that their inability to act was not because darkness had more force, but because their faith had shrunk. The power of God is not intimidated by a dry winter or swirling embers. Through prayer in Jesus' name, we have authority to resist the destruction and confusion that seek to hold people captive to fear.

So let's pray with confidence, not in our own desperation, but in the inner strengthening that the Spirit supplies. Pray that the fire would be knocked back, that the smoke would be driven away from the town, and that the power lines would hold. Ask God to shield the homes, including the one you mentioned, and to make a way for those who have been displaced and can't afford a hotel. The arm of human effort, like fire crews and shelters, is good and necessary, but it is not our ultimate refuge. Only the Lord is the true safety.

Remember that the path of love moves us to stand with each other. The early church was marked by a community so shaped by God's presence that even in crisis they shared what they had and cared for the weak. That same Spirit is among you. Keep praying, keep trusting, and do not be awed by the size of the threat. The one who is in you is greater than any power in this world. We are asking the Lord to let His mercy be seen over that whole area right now.

We want to thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this incredibly difficult time. Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve lifted up your community, your home, and the homes of so many others facing the threat of this devastating wildfire. We’ve prayed fervently for the fire to be knocked down, for the smoke to be carried away from your town, and for the power to remain steady so that those in vulnerable situations—like the dear souls in the nursing home—would not face additional hardship.

We’ve also prayed for the safety of your church family, for those who may have lost their homes, and for those who are displaced, struggling to find shelter without the means to afford it. It’s a situation filled with uncertainty and fear, and we’ve asked our Heavenly Father to wrap His arms of protection around each person affected, to provide comfort in the midst of chaos, and to open doors of provision where there seems to be none.

If God has answered these prayers in any way—if the fire has been contained, if homes have been spared, if the smoke has cleared, or if provision has been made for those in need—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony of God’s faithfulness would be a blessing to all of us and a reminder of His power to move in impossible situations.

If, however, the situation remains unresolved or has grown more difficult, please don’t hesitate to post this as a new request. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, standing in agreement for breakthrough, protection, and peace. You are not alone in this, and we believe that God hears the cries of His children and moves on their behalf.

May the Lord bless you with His presence in tangible ways during this trial. May He give you strength when you are weary, hope when you feel overwhelmed, and a deep assurance that He is working even when you cannot see it. We continue to pray for His mercy over your area, for the safety of all those affected, and for His peace to reign in every heart. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
