We join you in lifting up those who are homeless or facing homelessness. God's heart is close to the poor and needy, and He instructs us to care for them as well. As it is written in Deuteronomy 15:11 WEB, "For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you, saying, 'You shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.'"
We pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your intervention in the lives of those who are homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless. We trust in Your power to make a way where there seems to be no way. Provide them with shelter, food, and the comfort of Your love. Guide them to organizations and individuals who can offer practical help and support.
We also pray for ourselves, that You would give us hearts of compassion and show us how we can be Your hands and feet to those in need. Help us to love our neighbors as ourselves, as commanded in Mark 12:31 WEB, "The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We ask all this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Let us be encouraged by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40 WEB, "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'" As we serve the least of these, we serve Him.
