Humble Prayer Partner
I made a big mistake today and didn't correct it but asked for forgiveness from God. Please pray God doesn't punish me and that He extends forgiveness and grace and mercy even though I don't deserve it.
Please pray that God doesn't take away blessings or provision and that I still continue to recieve child support, my son still gets his disability and that me and my son don't lose our apartment.
Please pray that God doesn't take away our home and purpose and that our favor isn't affected.
Please pray that God still carries my son and protects his peace, innocence, heart, mind and purpose.

We hear the weight and fear in your heart and we join with you before the Lord in this moment. You have been honest about making a mistake and not correcting it, and about asking God for forgiveness, and we want you to know that God sees your humble heart. He is not eager to punish His children but is full of mercy toward those who come to Him with a truly repentant heart. Psalm 103:8 says Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. Psalm 103:10 says He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us It is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. And 1 John 1:9 gives us this promise, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We notice you asked for forgiveness from God, but you did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently and lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and receive forgiveness. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved not by our goodness, for none of us deserves grace, but by believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and by confessing Him as Lord. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So we encourage you to bring your confession directly to God through Jesus, trusting in His shed blood alone for mercy.

We also want to lovingly speak to the part where you said you did not correct the mistake. True repentance is more than feeling sorry, it is confessing and turning from it and doing what is right before God. Proverbs 28:13 says He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. If it is still possible to correct what was done, to tell the truth or make it right, we urge you to do so in obedience and trust, even when it is hard. Ephesians 4:25 says Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. God honors honesty and He is able to carry the consequences when we choose to walk in the light. We say this not to condemn you, for Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, but to help you walk in freedom and not remain in fear that hidden things will be uncovered later.

We now pray together with you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear parent and child to You. Lord, we confess this mistake before You and ask for Your full forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. Wash away sin and cleanse this heart, and grant grace and mercy that is not deserved but freely given in Christ. We ask that You would quiet fear with Your perfect love, for 1 John 4:18 says There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Help this one to rest not in dread of punishment but in Your loving kindness and discipline that restores.

We ask for Your provision and protection over this home. You know the need for child support, for the son's disability provision, and for this apartment. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray You would not allow this family to lose their home, that You would keep Your hand of favor and purpose over them, and that no scheme of the enemy would take away what You have provided. We pray You would sustain their daily needs and establish them in stability and peace.

We especially lift up this precious son to You. Thank You for his life, for his innocence and purpose. We ask that You carry him, protect his peace, his heart, his mind, and keep his purpose secure in You. Philippians 4:7 says And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 26:3 says You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. Guard him from anxiety and confusion, and let him know he is held, loved, and kept safe in Your hands.

Give this parent wisdom and courage to walk in truth going forward, to correct what can be corrected, and to trust You with every outcome. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Let Your mercy be new every morning and let Your favor continue to rest on this family as they seek You.

We pray all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only hope and Redeemer, amen.

We encourage you to keep drawing near to God through Jesus each day, to read His Word, to walk honestly, and to trust that His grace is sufficient while also choosing to obey Him in the small things. God is faithful to forgive, to provide, and to keep those who trust in Him, and we are trusting with you that He will continue to carry both you and your son in His perfect care.

We've been holding your request before the Lord today, and we hear how heavy this feels, the worry that one mistake could change everything for you and your son, and the deep love you have for him as you ask God to keep covering his peace and his future.

Asking God for forgiveness when we know we've done wrong is the right turn to make, and it's understandable that fear and guilt still linger afterward. Sometimes we make a sincere decision to turn from what we did and receive His mercy, and our emotions take longer to catch up. That unsettled feeling doesn't mean God hasn't heard you or that He is looking to take good things away. We can bring the same honest heart to Him again, name what happened plainly, thank Him for His grace, and then when the fear rises up, gently remind ourselves we have already placed it in His hands.

It may help to share this burden with one trusted person this week, a pastor or mature believer who can pray with you in person, and to stay steady with the practical care of your home by keeping any paperwork for support and benefits current, so worry has less room to grow.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this parent and son to You. Thank You for Your mercy that we do not earn. Quiet fear with Your nearness, guard this child's heart and mind, and give this parent wisdom and peace for each next step. Provide for their home and daily needs as You see best, and help them rest in Your care. Amen.

You have come with an honest confession, and that is the right place to come. To ask for forgiveness even though you do not deserve it is itself the language of grace, for the gifts of God are freely given to us and everything is of divine grace, given of grace, received through grace, and understood by grace. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

Hear what the Scripture says, there is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared, and I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. This forgiveness is not a partial thing, nor a grudging thing. Oh the heap of blessedness which lies in this one gracious gift of God, the forgiveness of sins. It is a divine forgiveness, complete, and it comes to us only through the golden cup of Christ's atonement. You shall never taste of divine grace except out of that cup. God has poured the infinity of His grace into the work of His Son upon the cross, and you may drink of it by simply trusting in Christ.

When a sinner admits the justice of God if He should punish him, then mercy comes in and the punishment is put away. Your prayer shows that work, that you have owned your mistake before the Lord. As soon as David said, I have sinned against the Lord, the word came, The Lord also has put away thy sin. So it is with all who look to Jesus. Let none suppose that God will twice exact the penalty of one sin. If you have trusted Christ, the penalty was borne by Him, and there remains for you not punishment but fatherly mercy. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and of great mercy.

Do not think lightly of sin because grace abounds, but let this forgiveness be the very motive that moves you to fear God and to walk before Him in truth. If there remains anything in this mistake which you can yet correct or make right before men, do so as the Lord gives you strength, for true repentance loves to walk in the upright way. Being emptied of self and led to accept the things that are freely given to us of God, we are spiritually enriched.

We join our prayers with yours now.

We pray that our gracious God, for Christ's sake, would assure your heart of His full pardon, that you may know how much mercy and grace and peace are yours under the shadow of His wings. We pray that He would not deal with you as your sins deserve, but according to the riches of His grace, and that fear and dread would be turned into a holy and loving fear of Him.

We pray that He in His fatherly wisdom would continue His provision over you and your son, over your home, your daily bread, the child support and the disability help that sustains you, and over the roof the Lord has given you. We ask that He would keep your dwelling in peace and preserve your purpose in Him, and that no good thing that comes from His hand would be taken away but that you would know His favor in Christ.

And we pray especially for your son, that the Lord would carry him, protect his peace and his innocence, guard his heart and mind, and keep his purpose in His gracious hands. May the Lord who seeks and saves the lost keep this little one as the apple of His eye.

Continue to seek Him in prayer, for prayer is the forerunner of mercy and often the very means by which mercy comes. Trust not in your own deserving, but in His sovereign grace which needs no prompting and which He gives freely according to the good pleasure of His own will.
