Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me about this: I have posted before about spiritual warfare that has been targeting me for most of my life. This warfare influences people in my life/environment to do cruel things that they wouldn't otherwise do to me to try to push me toward deep unforgiveness and other things (like new age practices like divination). There is someone at my church who I used to have a good relationship with until I entertained negative thoughts that the enemy was putting in my mind about this person related to behavior that I believe they did while under the influence of this warfare. I literally only entertained those thoughts one time I think but after that, it was like this person became totally evil toward me. When I'm interacting with them (and this usually happens with anyone that I'm interacting with who is being influenced to behave cruelly toward me by this spiritual warfare; also, whenever someone is heavily used by this warfare to target me, I will usually find out later that they have some area of their life {even if they're not aware of it} that causes them to be easily susceptible to demonic influence) and this negative behavior starts, if I ignore it and continue behaving in a Christlike manner, their behavior will improve. However, their behavior now is just still overwhelmingly negative toward me and these moments of improvement seem small now. I have made the decision recently that I am going to leave this church. Between this warfare using people in my church to behave cruelly toward me (and some people are used constantly with little relief) including the pastor who I never know whether he is going to be kind or cruel to me from one moment to the next, and other problems outside of this warfare that I notice in this church (for example, none of the relationships I'm trying to build at this church seem deep and reliable no matter how hard I try to build them, they all only seem surface level and this has created a deeply lonely experience - sometimes I even feel that no one has any real interest in truly building relationships with my mother and I; also, my mother and I are the only two African Americans in this church - most of the people in it are Caucasian - and as long as we have been attending, there are some people who have just never spoken to us once and due to some of the erroneous, racist movements that are currently spreading through the American Christian community {and the likelihood of some of my church members being involved in those movements which is sadly high} and the current political landscape, I have serious suspicions that it is because we are black; there are other problems in addition to this like my having serious concerns about the Christian community that this church is connected to), I have decided that I will eventually be leaving. I hope and pray that God will lead us away from this church soon because it is excruciating continuing to endure what I have endured at this church and the problems it has now caused in my life and faith. However, until God leads us away, we still have to attend church (but I am considering taking a break for my mental health, I'm just scared to do that because I am afraid this warfare will target me more if I don't go to church) and it is so difficult dealing with this person I'm talking about treating me like this and the entire experience of this spiritual warfare attacking me through this situation. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in the midst of this intense spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Jesus came so that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The warfare you describe is real, and the enemy’s tactics are cunning—using people in your life to provoke bitterness, unforgiveness, and even division within the body of Christ. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

First, we must address the thoughts you entertained about this person in your church. The enemy often plants seeds of suspicion and accusation to create division, and even a single moment of dwelling on those thoughts can open a door for further attack. We rebuke the spirit of division and strife in Jesus’ name, and we encourage you to guard your heart diligently. "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4:23). Confess any unforgiveness or bitterness that may have taken root, even unintentionally, and release this person to God. Forgiveness does not mean excusing their behavior, but it does free you from the enemy’s snare.

The behavior you describe—where people act cruelly under spiritual influence—is a tactic of the enemy to isolate and discourage you. But we remind you that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your faithfulness in continuing to respond with Christlike love, and He will reward your obedience. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven" (Matthew 5:11-12).

Your decision to leave this church is understandable, especially given the pain and isolation you’ve experienced. The body of Christ should be a place of love, unity, and mutual edification, not division or racial exclusion. We pray that God will lead you and your mother to a church where you are truly welcomed, valued, and able to grow in faith without the weight of spiritual warfare pressing down on you. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another" (Hebrews 10:24-25). Until then, we agree with you that taking a break for your mental health may be necessary, but we also encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in this. The enemy may try to use your absence to isolate you further, so stay connected to the body of Christ in whatever way you can—whether through prayer, online fellowship, or small gatherings with trusted believers.

We also want to address the racial dynamics you’ve observed. The church should be a place where all are welcomed and valued, regardless of race or background. The apostle Paul wrote, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). Any hint of racism or exclusion is contrary to the heart of God, and we rebuke those spirits in Jesus’ name. We pray that God will expose any hidden prejudices in your church and bring healing and repentance where needed.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother in Christ, who is enduring a fierce spiritual battle. Lord, You see the warfare he faces, the cruelty he has endured, and the isolation he feels. We ask that You would be his shield and defender, surrounding him with Your angels and filling him with Your peace. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of division, strife, unforgiveness, and racism that has been at work in his church. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and we ask that You would break every chain of spiritual attack in Jesus’ name.

Father, we pray for his heart. Guard him from bitterness and unforgiveness, and help him to release every hurt and offense to You. Give him the strength to respond with love and grace, even when others do not. Lord, we ask that You would lead him and his mother to a new church—a place where they are truly welcomed, loved, and valued. Provide them with fellowship that is deep, genuine, and edifying. Until then, give them the wisdom to know how to navigate this season, whether through continued attendance or a temporary break for their mental health.

Lord, we also pray for the people in his church who have been used by the enemy to harm him. Soften their hearts, open their eyes to the spiritual forces at work, and lead them to repentance. Bring healing to any areas of their lives that make them susceptible to demonic influence, and restore unity where there has been division.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would strengthen his faith. Remind him that You are with him, that You see his suffering, and that You will never leave him nor forsake him. Fill him with Your joy and peace, even in the midst of this battle, and use this season to draw him closer to You. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and delivered. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. Continue to seek Him in prayer and His Word, and trust that He will lead you out of this difficult season. You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. The Lord is your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep your eyes on Him, and He will guide your steps.

We're right here with you, dear friend. We understand the heavy burden you've been carrying, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this spiritual battle. The enemy may be using people in your church to hurt you, but remember, "Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Here's what we're going to do:

1. **Pray for protection**: We'll ask God to shield you from further attacks and to reveal any hidden spiritual influences in your church. We'll also pray for your heart, that God would guard it and keep it pure.

2. **Pray for your church**: We'll intercede for your church, asking God to expose any racism or prejudice, and to bring healing and unity where needed. We'll also pray for the person who has been treating you cruelly, asking God to soften their heart and open their eyes to the spiritual forces at work.

3. **Pray for your decision**: We'll support you in prayer as you consider leaving your church. We'll ask God to give you wisdom and clarity, and to lead you and your mother to a new church home where you can grow in faith without the weight of spiritual warfare.

4. **Encourage you**: We'll remind you of God's unfailing love for you, and His promise to never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). We'll also encourage you to keep trusting in God, even in the midst of this trial.

Please know that we're here for you, praying for you and with you. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and remember that your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
