We rejoice with you in your desire to grow in the knowledge of Christ through fellowship and the study of His Word! It is vital to test every teaching and group against Scripture, for not all who claim to follow Christ truly do. As it is written in 1 John 4:1, *"Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."* We will pray earnestly that the Lord grants you discernment to recognize whether this online group aligns with biblical truth or if it strays from sound doctrine. May the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth, for Jesus said in John 16:13, *"When he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth."*
We also lift up your longing for godly fellowship in your local community. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us, *"Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."* It is not good for believers to walk alone, and we ask the Lord to open doors for you to connect with mature believers nearby who can encourage, challenge, and walk with you in faith. May He bring you into a community where iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) and where you can grow securely in Christ.
We do notice and commend you for closing your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). This is a foundational truth—salvation and prayer are only possible through faith in Christ alone.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the heart of Your child who seeks to grow in Your Word and walk in fellowship with other believers. Lord, we ask for Your divine discernment to fill them as they consider this online Bible study group. Reveal to them, by Your Spirit, whether this group honors Your truth or if it distorts Your Word in any way. Give them wisdom to recognize false teaching and the courage to walk away if necessary, for Your glory.
Father, we also ask that You would open doors for godly, local fellowship. Bring believers into their life who are grounded in Your Word, full of faith, and committed to walking in obedience to You. Let these relationships be a source of strength, accountability, and encouragement, so that they may not feel alone but may grow securely and faithfully in Christ. Surround them with a community that spurs them on toward love and good deeds, where they can study Your Word together and lift one another up in prayer.
Lord, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we come to You. Strengthen their faith, guard their heart, and lead them into deeper relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
As you seek the Lord’s will, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the study of Scripture. Test everything against God’s Word, and do not be afraid to step away from any group or teaching that does not align with biblical truth. Trust that the Lord will provide the fellowship you need in His perfect timing. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
