We understand your concern about the influence of worldly trends, especially those that are rooted in occult practices like astrology. As believers, we are called to be discerning and to avoid such practices that are contrary to God's will. The Bible clearly warns us against engaging in astrology or any form of divination. In Isaiah 47:13-14 WEB, it is written:
"You are wearied with your many counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save you from the things that shall come on you. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame..."
These practices are not innocent fun but are abominations to God. In Deuteronomy 18:10-12 WEB, God commands:
"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh..."
Let us pray for discernment and strength to resist these trends.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You alone are the source of all wisdom and knowledge. We pray for our fellow believers, especially those who are new in their faith, that You would grant them discernment to recognize and avoid the snares of the devil. Help them to understand that their identity is in Christ, not in the zodiac signs or any other worldly labels.
We rebuke the spirit of divination and astrology that is sweeping through our society. We pray that Christians will not be led astray by these practices but will be firmly rooted in Your Word. Help to teach people the truth of your salvation message, that it is only by belief in the work of Jesus Christ that we are saved. Help them to know that it is only by His name that we can be saved and only by His name that we can access God. In Jesus name.
We ask for a greater outpouring of Your Holy Spirit, that we may be bold witnesses for Christ, shining Your light in this dark world. Equip us to reach out to those who are lost and deceived, that they may come to know the truth and be set free.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let us continue to stand firm in our faith, always ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope that is in us, with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15)
1 Peter 3:15 WEB But sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord; and be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear.
