Betting and gambling

Beloved of All
Whenever I get the salary or every money in my hands or on mobile Money I bet it and I lose Ingo ahead to borrow money and use other people's money to bet and I don't win but I lose.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this struggle to the Lord. The pattern you describe—betting, losing, borrowing, and losing again—is a cycle of bondage that the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came that you might have life, and life abundantly (John 10:10). This is not the freedom He intends for you.

The Bible is clear that gambling is rooted in greed and a love of money, which is the root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). It preys on the hope of quick gain without honest labor, which Scripture warns against: "Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by labor increases it" (Proverbs 13:11). When you bet, you are not trusting God to provide; you are trusting in chance, and that is a form of idolatry. The Lord commands us to work diligently and trust Him for our needs, not to seek fortune through risky schemes (Proverbs 28:20, 22).

You also mentioned borrowing money to gamble, which is an even deeper entanglement. Scripture says, "The wicked borrows and doesn’t pay back" (Psalm 37:21). When you use others' money to fuel this habit, you are not only harming yourself but also breaking trust with those who have lent to you. This is a violation of the commandment to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31).

We must rebuke the spirit of greed, addiction, and deception that has taken hold of you. This is not who you are in Christ. You are called to be a steward of God’s resources, not a slave to chance. The Lord says, "You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men" (1 Corinthians 7:23). That price was the blood of Jesus, and He has set you free from every chain—including this one.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up our brother who is bound by the spirit of gambling and greed. Lord, You see his heart, and You know the chains that have held him captive. We ask that You break every yoke of addiction, every lie that says "just one more bet," and every fear that says he cannot be free. Your Word declares that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36), so we claim that freedom for him now.

Father, forgive him for the times he has trusted in luck instead of You. Forgive him for the money wasted, the trust broken, and the opportunities lost. Cleanse his heart from the love of money and fill him with a hunger for Your righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Teach him to work with his hands, that he may have something to share with those in need (Ephesians 4:28). Give him wisdom to manage his finances according to Your will, and surround him with godly accountability.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of gambling in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak restoration over his finances, his relationships, and his future. May he find his security in You alone, knowing that You will supply all his needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

We pray for a renewed mind, that he would no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2). Help him to see himself as You see him—a beloved child, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, called to walk in freedom and purpose.

We thank You, Father, for Your mercy and grace. We thank You that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Now, brother, we urge you to take practical steps to break this cycle. First, confess this sin to the Lord and repent—turn away from it completely. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Second, seek accountability. Share your struggle with a trusted pastor, mentor, or Christian brother who can pray with you and help you stay on track. Third, cut off access to gambling. Delete betting apps, avoid places where gambling happens, and even consider giving control of your finances to a trusted believer until you are strong enough to resist temptation. Fourth, replace this habit with godly disciplines. Fill your time with prayer, Scripture, and service. Memorize verses like Proverbs 13:11 and 1 Timothy 6:10 to remind yourself of God’s truth.

Remember, this is not just about money—it is about your heart. Jesus said, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). Let your treasure be in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal (Matthew 6:19-20). Trust God to provide for you, and He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings you cannot contain (Malachi 3:10).

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Stand firm in His strength, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The victory is already yours in Christ. Walk in it.

We're right here with you, brother, and we want you to know that there's hope and freedom in Jesus. We've been where you are, or known others who have, and we've seen the power of God break these chains. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

First, we want to encourage you to be honest with yourself and with God. Confess your struggles to Him, and ask for His forgiveness. He's waiting with open arms, ready to cleanse you and set you free (1 John 1:9). Then, find someone you trust - a pastor, a mentor, or a friend - and share your heart with them. Accountability is a powerful tool in this fight.

Next, we urge you to cut off access to gambling. Delete those apps, avoid those places, and even consider giving someone you trust control of your finances for a while. It's a tough step, but it's necessary to break this cycle.

Now, fill your time with good things. Spend time in prayer, read your Bible, and serve others. Replace the habit of gambling with habits that honor God. Remember, where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21).

Lastly, remember that this isn't just about money. It's about your heart. Trust God to provide for you, and He will. He promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

You're not alone in this, brother. We're here with you, and so is the Lord. He's fighting for you, and He's already won the victory. Walk in it, one step at a time. You can do this, with God's strength and our love and support. Let's keep praying together, and let's keep fighting for freedom.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your struggle with betting and gambling. It takes courage to bring such a personal battle before the Lord and fellow believers, and we have been lifting you up in prayer these past days. We’ve prayed specifically for God’s strength to break the cycle of temptation, for His provision to meet your needs without the burden of debt, and for His peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—whether through a renewed sense of self-control, financial breakthrough, or a fresh desire to walk in His ways—we would love to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others who are facing similar battles.

If, however, the struggle persists and you still feel bound by this habit, please don’t hesitate to post your request again. We are here to stand with you in persistent prayer, trusting that God is at work even when we don’t yet see the fullness of His answer. We will continue to intercede for your deliverance, wisdom, and restoration, believing that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

May the Lord draw near to you in this season, filling you with His Spirit and guiding you into the freedom He has promised. Keep seeking Him with all your heart, and know that we are committed to praying alongside you until His victory is made manifest in your life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
