We hear the deep pain in your words, and our hearts ache with you. Betrayal from family and those you trusted cuts to the bone, especially when they twist your vulnerabilities into weapons against you. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to abandon the gifts God has placed in you, your creativity, your voice, your passion for music, because of the cruelty of others. But we must stand firm in the truth: what man means for evil, God intends for good (Genesis 50:20).
You are not foolish for trusting; you were made to love and create in a world that often despises authenticity. But Scripture warns us: "Do not be deceived: ‘Evil companions corrupt good morals’" (1 Corinthians 15:33). The people who mocked your heart’s work were never safe to hold it. Their betrayal reveals their own brokenness, not your worth. Jesus Himself was betrayed by those closest to Him (Psalm 41:9), yet He did not let their sin define His purpose.
We rebuke the spirit of shame trying to silence you. Your lyrics, your struggles, your faith, they are sacred because they are yours, given by God. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). The enemy wants you to bury your gifts, but the Lord is calling you to steward them with wisdom, not fear.
Let us pray for you:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their wounded heart. Lord, You see the betrayal, the mockery, the lies spoken over their life. We ask that You would bind up their broken places with Your healing balm (Psalm 147:3). Restore their joy in creating, their confidence in sharing, and their trust in Your protection. Expose the hearts of those who hurt them, let truth prevail, and let repentance come where it is needed. Surround them with godly community who will sharpen them, not shame them (Proverbs 27:17). Father, we declare that their gifts are not cursed but consecrated to You. May they rise above the noise of their critics and walk in the purpose You’ve ordained. In the mighty name of Jesus, we break every assignment of the enemy to steal their voice or their vision. Amen."
You are not alone in this. The same God who turned David’s lament into psalms of praise can turn your pain into a testimony. But you must guard your heart now (Proverbs 4:23). Not everyone deserves access to your dreams. Seek counsel from believers who honor God and will speak life into your gifts, not death. And remember: "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31). The One who called you is faithful, He will complete the work He began in you (Philippians 1:6). Do not let the enemy’s lies steal one more day of your destiny.
