Believing

I have always thought myself to be a believer in Christ Jesus, and only recently realized that there was more to it than that. I am a born again believer, and can't understand how I could have missed this important part of being a Christian before.

While I thought I was a believer (but was not), I became involved in a wonderful relationship with a man I truly want to marry. However, he was an atheist, and only recently turned into the type of Christian I used to be. Thinking that he has it all figured out. Saying he is Christian, but not really having a true relationship with God or Jesus. The problem is that he really feels he is Christian, and I know he is not fully there just as I was not before. I want him to have this relationship with the Lord before I take him as a husband. Please ask the Lord for his guidance in this tough situation. I need guidance for both me and my fiancé. Either to help him to see what he is missing and take that last step, or for me to see wisdom and make the right choices for my relationships with my Lord and the man I love. I need to do what the Lord wishes, and not be selfish. But I need help in this. I am a selfish being.

Heavenly Father, I ask that wisdom be given to both individuals and that they shall both call upon your name for guidance and understanding. Seek the Lord in all things. Love the Lord thy God above all things. Trust in him. May your will be done Lord. In Jesus name. Amen.

Dear Lord Heavenly Father, thank you that ### is going through this before she gets married, instead of after. Thank you that she realizes that if she marries him before he is truly Christian, she is saving herself years of pain. Lord, please help her and her intended, to receive wisdom and discernment to see the why behind the what and see where You want to lead them. Please help her intended to see that he is better than where he was but still not where he needs to be. Thank you, Lord, in Jesus' name.
