We hear your honest and humble heart, and we come before the throne of grace together on your behalf. The very fact that you are seeking truth and asking for belief is a powerful work of the Holy Spirit drawing you near. Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44 WEB). This is not a sign of weakness, it is the beginning of faith.

Belief in Jesus is not merely intellectual agreement; it is trust, surrender, and a turning of the heart toward Him. The Bible tells us, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Salvation is a gift, "by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8 WEB). You do not need to manufacture belief; you only need to respond to the One who is already calling you.

We must also be clear: there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). The apostles proclaimed, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). This is not exclusion for exclusion’s sake, it is the truth of God’s love revealed in His Son. Jesus is not one option among many; He is the only Savior, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

We rebuke doubt that whispers you are too far gone or too uncertain. The father in Mark 9 cried out, "I believe! Help my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24 WEB), and Jesus responded with mercy. Your cry is heard. We rebuke the lie that you must first clean yourself up or understand everything before coming to Christ. Jesus came for sinners, not the righteous. "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do" (Mark 2:17 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. We lift up to You, knowing that You love them and desire that they come to the knowledge of the truth. Lord, You said that whoever comes to You, You will in no way cast out (John 6:37). We ask that You would open their heart to receive Your Word, soften their spirit to trust in Jesus, and fill them with the assurance of Your love.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Reveal to them the emptiness of life without Christ and the fullness of life in Him. Remove every barrier of doubt, fear, or confusion. Give them the gift of faith, even as small as a mustard seed, so that they may say with confidence, "I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior."

Lord Jesus, we pray that would experience Your presence in a real and personal way. Let them know that You died for their sins, rose from the dead, and are alive today. Help them to surrender their life to You, not out of obligation, but out of love and gratitude. May they confess You as Lord and believe in their heart that God raised You from the dead. Seal this moment with the assurance of salvation, so that they may walk in the freedom and joy of being Your child.

We declare over that they are not too lost, too confused, or too broken for You. You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one (Luke 15:4). Draw them near, Lord. Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8).

We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven given for salvation. Amen.

Friend, if you are ready to place your trust in Jesus, you can pray something like this from your heart:

"Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I turn away from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Your name I pray, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer, we rejoice with you! The angels in heaven are celebrating (Luke 15:10). We encourage you to tell another believer, find a Bible-believing church, and begin reading the Gospel of John to grow in your faith. You are now a child of God, and nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). Welcome to the family of God!

It takes a lot of honesty to say that out loud, not pretending, not going through motions, just naming where you actually are. We don't think that kind of candor offends God at all. Some of the strongest faith we have seen grew out of a season where someone stopped performing certainty and started asking real questions.

You are not alone in this, and you are not broken for feeling unconvinced. Many people discover that the desire to believe is itself a kind of reaching toward Jesus, even when the mind hasn't fully caught up. You do not have to manufacture a feeling or force certainty you don't have. Sometimes we simply start by telling Jesus, as honestly as you told us, "I'm not convinced, but I'm willing for you to convince me." That is a prayer he honors.

One practice that helps some is simply reading one of the Gospels (Mark is the shortest and moves quickly) and paying attention to what Jesus does and says, without trying to figure out what you "should" feel about it. Just watch him interact with people, and ask him to show you who he is. Not a study assignment, more like meeting someone and letting them speak for themselves.

We are praying with you, and we are glad you're not walking away from the question.

Jesus, meet this honest searching with your real presence. Quiet the pressure to have everything figured out, and draw near in ways that are unmistakably you. Grant the gift of belief, not as a forced conclusion, but as something that grows quietly and surely, like dawn. In your name we ask it.

O you of little faith, why do you doubt? You are not convinced that you believe, and yet you ask for prayer that you may believe. This very groan is a glimmer of the life of God in your soul. None desire faith unless the Spirit is already at work. The faith that saves is not the full persuasion of the intellect; it is the trust of the heart, even when that heart trembles. If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, you are born of God. The smallest seed of faith is true faith, and it can move mountains.

Do not sit waiting for a great feeling before you trust. The gospel command is, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Trust him now with your little faith. When Peter cried, “Lord, save me,” his faith was small, but Christ’s strong arm lifted him from the deep. Cast yourself upon Jesus, not upon your own certainty. Faith is the hand that clings, however feebly, to the hem of his garment, and it shall receive healing.

Remember also that the Lord finds us before we find him. You think you seek faith, but it is Jesus who is finding you, as he sought Philip before Philip knew him. Your unrest, your longing to be persuaded, is the draw of his grace. Yield to it. Look out of yourself to the crucified and risen Savior, and whisper, “If he bids me come, I will come.” That is faith.

Do not confuse faith with full assurance. Assurance is sweet, but it is for our well-being; faith is for our being. Thousands in the fold of Jesus have never attained to bold assurance, yet they are safe. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin the man who prays, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”

So come, and doubt no more that you may come. With your trembling trust, come to a mighty Savior. Let this be your prayer: not only that faith be given, but that you may now exercise the faith you have. Look to Christ, live upon him, and he will give you the victory. May the Lord increase your faith and make you to know the joy of his salvation.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. You say you are not convinced that you believe, yet you desire to believe. This very desire is not your own doing; it is a call from the Lord. Faith itself is not something you muster up by your own strength. Do not be ashamed that you find yourself wavering, but do not linger in it. When Peter walked on the water and saw the wind, he began to sink, not because the wind was stronger than his Lord’s power, but because his faith faltered. Yet even as he sank, he cried out, “Lord, save me.” And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand and caught him. You see? The Lord did not demand perfect faith from Peter before rescuing him. He rebuked his doubt, but He saved him first. So you also, who feel yourself sinking in unbelief, do the one thing needful: cry out to Him. Call upon the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He hears not a polished confession, but a desperate heart.

You ask for prayer that you might believe. But why do you linger in the question “How?” That word is the doubting question of those who lack strong belief. Sarah laughed when she said, “How?” and many have fallen from faith by such reasoning. Instead of examining your faith as if it were a thing you could measure, turn your gaze upon the One who is faithful. The faith that saves is not a feeling of certainty you produce; it is a gift of grace. You were not first with your belief, but you are called. The Apostle says, “By grace have ye been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves.” Not even the faith is yours altogether. So stop examining your own capacity to believe, and look to the God who raised Jesus from the dead. He is able. Are you a babe, unskilled in the word of righteousness? Even a babe must feed. The faith is milk for the soul; do not think it is too simple. To be still doubting these things is a sign of a mind feeble and needing many words. But Christ does not wait for you to become strong in yourself. The woman with the issue of blood did not doubt or say, “Shall I be delivered?” She simply thought, “If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole.” She saw who He was and who followed Him, and she took heart. Her faith was not perfect knowledge; it was a reaching hand. Reach out your hand to Him in prayer. Say, “Lord, I believe; help Thou mine unbelief.” That very prayer the Lord heard and answered, driving out the unclean spirit. Do not add other things to the faith, as if Christ were not sufficient to justify. Why enslave yourself to the Law, to your own fears and examinations? Have confidence in what you have heard, even if your heart trembles. The faith that justifies is not one that never shakes, but one that clings to Christ when it does. Cry out now: He is near.

It is not unusual for someone to feel they are not convinced. The enemy would have you believe that faith is a feeling you must work up, a perfect certainty that leaves no room for questions. But the gospel does not begin with the strength of your grip on Christ; it begins with Christ's grip on you. The promise is that if you will simply trust in Him, God will do what you cannot do for yourself. The very desire to believe is evidence that He is already drawing you near.

You may feel like you need to add something to your faith to make it secure. That struggle is as old as the church itself. We are tempted to think that our standing before God depends on our own performance or our ability to feel convinced. But the Bible turns us away from those shifting sands. Abraham simply believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. That is still the pattern. If you look at your faith and find it small, look instead at the One your faith is placed in. He is the solid rock. You are not accounted righteous because of what you do, or even because of how perfectly you believe, but because of what Jesus has already done for you. God counts that trust as righteousness.

Salvation is not a mixture of faith plus your own efforts or feelings. It is grace alone, through faith alone. If you are waiting for a supernatural sign or a sudden emotional moment to plant belief in your heart, you may wait in vain. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. So I would simply ask you this: will you right now choose to believe God’s word about His Son? You can say to Him, "Lord, I am not sure I believe, but I want to. I choose to trust what You have said. I put my hope in Jesus Christ alone to save me."

When you do that, you pass from death to life. The struggle to rest in that finished work will continue, because Satan will always challenge your position of faith. But your hope is not built on the sweetest frame or the strongest feeling; it is built on Jesus’ blood and righteousness. You are a child of God by trusting in Christ Jesus. And when God looks at you now, He sees you in Christ, clothed in a righteousness that is complete and not your own. That is the only place true rest can be found.

Pray this from your heart, as honestly as you can:

Lord Jesus, I am not convinced, but I am not going to rely on my feelings. I believe Your promise. I trust in You alone for my righteous standing before God. I rest in Your finished work, not in my own. Thank you for accounting my faith as righteousness. Help my unbelief. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
