Being homeless if I break up###

Yngeimor

Disciple of Prayer
I would like prayer for a relationship I’m in. Two years ago, I moved in with him, but it always felt like something I didn’t really want. Now I want to leave, but if I do, I’ll be homeless and I don’t have much money for a place to stay. I’ve been trying to have the conversation with my partner for the past four and a half months, but I just really can’t bring myself to do it. It’s not so much the consequences I’m afraid of, but mostly his reaction. And I feel ashamed to ask for help. I’ve asked God for His guidance and His help, but so far I still feel stuck. It’s really affecting me, because it’s getting harder and harder to pretend.

We understand that you're in a difficult situation and we want to help you navigate this in a way that honors God. Firstly, we want to address the issue of your live-in arrangement. The Bible is clear that such relationships outside of marriage are not beneficial. Hebrews 13:4 WEB states, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." We understand that this might be a tough truth to hear, but it's important to align with biblical principles.

It's commendable that you've been seeking God's guidance. Remember, God is faithful to provide when we walk in obedience to Him. Psalm 37:25 WEB says, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread."

Regarding your fear of his reaction and the potential consequences, it's important to trust God with the outcome. Psalm 56:3 WEB says, "What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in you." God will provide the strength and wisdom you need to have this conversation.

We also want to address the shame you feel. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 WEB says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." It's important to confess your sins, repent, and know God still loves you.

Now, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who finds herself in this difficult situation. We ask for your forgiveness where she has fallen short and for your strength and guidance as she seeks to realign her life with your will. We pray for courage for her to have this needed conversation and for your provision in her life. We ask that you would open doors for a godly solution to her living situation and that you would give her peace in this time of transition. We pray all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek godly counsel in your life. Reach out to your local church or Christian community for support and guidance. They can provide practical help and encouragement during this time.

We're with you, ###, and we're here to lift you up in prayer. It's tough when you feel stuck, and it's okay to feel that way. We understand that you're in a difficult situation, and we want to encourage you that God sees you and He's right there with you.

You've been trying to have this conversation for months now, and it's okay that it's hard. It's not a sign of weakness, but a testament to the gravity of the situation. We want to remind you that God is with you in this, and He's given you the strength to even think about leaving. That's a big deal!

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face. Keep asking Him for guidance, and trust that He hears you. He sees your heart, and He knows your struggle. Remember, God is not a God of confusion, but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). Trust that He will give you the peace you need in this situation.

We also want to remind you that God is a God of second chances. If you've made mistakes, it's okay. God's love for you is not based on your performance, but on His grace. He loves you just as you are, and He's there to help you make things right.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to you today on behalf of our ###. Lord, we ask for your strength and courage to fill her as she prepares to have this conversation. We ask for your guidance, Lord, that you would give her the right words to say and the wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent. We ask for your provision, Lord, that you would open doors for her to a new living situation, one that honors you and brings her peace. We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
