On Thursday while driving to a friend's house, the Lord gave me this picture:
In the 'natural/physical world', a baby is born complete, yet he still has to grow up. He is like a clean canvas and what will influence this 'picture' will be the words spoken to it and the influences and actions of those around them as they are growing up. Because of this corrupt world, what usually happens is we begin to carry emotional baggage that affects decisions and choices we make in life.
Just as a baby is born complete in the natural, when we surrender our lives to Jesus and He becomes, "Lord", our lives drastically change. We are no longer of this world and what the world dictates. We are born, not of flesh, but of the 'spirit.' Jesus said, you must be born again of the spirit. The word of God says, you are a new creation, OLD THINGS have passed away, behold ALL THINGS have become NEW. Being born again, we are in a place of 'clean'. Now we are to be shaped and moulded, influenced by the Spirit of God as He teaches us who we are in Christ. As we 'grow up into all things in Christ' our minds are being reshaped, and our mouths are speaking the same things God speaks. Our thoughts are on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and praiseworthy, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, we think on these things. The fruit of the Spirit will begin go manifest in our lives as we give ourselves to the word of God and allow it speak into our lives. We are to be CHRIST MINDED!
I'm not who I used to be, that person is dead. Now I am who God says I am, and I will agree with Him and I will speak the same things He does, and I will allow His light to shine in me, because I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet it's not I who lives, but Christ who lives in me and the life that I now live in the 'flesh' I live by the faith of the Son of God who LOVED ME AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME. For I am dead to and from the rudiments of the world that used to influence and shape me, but now my life is hid with Christ in God.
