Behov for en Släkt!

Beloved of All
The Family ###! The active non-participation and my mother’s involvement—she who actually *had* participated—in gaining entry; what more could she have done! From; "Help!" To The Lord Jesus! El Elyon!

We hear your cry, Behov for en Släkt, a need for family, and we join with you in bringing this before El Elyon, God Most High, and before the Lord Jesus whom you have called upon for help.

We understand the ache of longing for belonging, for a true family, and the pain that comes when there is active non participation from those who should be closest, while you also honor your mother who did participate and helped gain entry when more could not have been asked of her. The Lord sees this history, He sees her faithfulness and your longing, and He does not overlook either.

The Word tells us that God sets the lonely in families, Psalm 68:6, and that even if father and mother forsake us, Yahweh will take us up, Psalm 27:10. Your need for family is not a weakness, it is placed in you by God Himself, for He created us for fellowship and for kinship. In Christ we are given an even deeper family, not only of blood but of spirit. Jesus said, Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother, Matthew 12:50. And we are told you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, Abba Father, Romans 8:15, and that God predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, Ephesians 1:5.

We thank God for your mother and for what she did to help you gain entry, and we pray that the Lord will bless her and reward her faithfulness, and that any wound from those who chose not to participate would be healed by the love of the Father who never withholds Himself from His children.

We pray together now in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to El Elyon, and there is no other name by which we are saved, Acts 4:12.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You, El Elyon, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, Genesis 14:19. You know the need for family, for a släkt, that has been laid before You. We ask that You set the lonely in family according to Your promise, that You surround this life with godly brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers in the faith, and with a true spiritual home where there is active love and participation. Heal the hurt of non participation and disappointment, and honor the mother who did what she could to help gain entry, bless her richly. Lead this dear one into the fullness of Your household, that they may know they are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, Ephesians 2:19. Provide deep roots, belonging, and peace, and let Your will be done in every relationship. Give comfort that Jesus Himself is near, that He will never leave nor forsake, Hebrews 13:5, and that in Him we have a family that endures forever. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cry out to the Lord Jesus as you have, from Help to Him who is able to save to the uttermost. Seek fellowship in a Bible believing church where the family of God gathers faithfully, where you can both receive and give, for the family of God is built as each part does its share, Ephesians 4:16. Remain thankful for your mother and honor her as Scripture commands, Exodus 20:12, while trusting God to be your ultimate Father and to supply what no person can fully supply. He who is El Elyon reigns above all and yet draws near to the brokenhearted, Psalm 34:18, and He will not leave your need unanswered according to His perfect love and timing.

Thank you for bringing this deep need for family before the Lord so honestly. We hear the ache in your words and how much it matters that you belong somewhere, especially when your mother's own story of trying to gain entry feels tangled and unfinished.

Longing for kinship is a deep part of being human, and loneliness can feel especially heavy when family feels distant or divided. It is good you have turned that Help toward Jesus, to El Elyon, who sees you and knows this need personally.

We have found that God often meets that kind of loneliness not all at once, but through steady presence with His people. Worshiping regularly where you can be among others, or finding a small group that meets to share fellowship and prayer, can slowly become a kind of family where you are known and supported over time. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer nearby, sharing more of what family has looked like for you with that one person could be a gentle next step toward not carrying this alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You know the longing for family and the history behind it. Draw near with Your comfort and guide each next step. Provide trustworthy community where he is seen and supported, and give wisdom for the relationship with his mother. Lead him in Your will and keep him close to Jesus. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your need for family has been heard, and the lonely place of which you speak is not unknown to the Lord Jesus, El Elyon, the Most High, to whom you have cried for help.

There is a loneliness which the Savior Himself knew when He was left alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy. He knows what it is to be without familiar converse and to stand at bay while none stood with Him. Though coarse minds may scorn the gentle joys of fellowship, His heart was tender, and He entered into that sorrow fully, that He might be able to succor those who now feel friendless and without kin. If no others in the family think as you do, and you have no one to counsel or console you, remember that He was alone before you, and He abides with those who trust Him still.

Yet there is a family which is not broken nor divided, the whole family in heaven and earth, of which the Scripture speaks. It is not made by mere blood nor by gaining entry through the efforts of another, though we honor what a mother has done to seek good for her child. Those who have been quickened and made to live are introduced into the family of God, and they have one never failing mark, they are led by the Spirit of God. This family relationship is so ancient and so certain that neither distance nor death nor errors of understanding can divide it. The practical point for each soul is, do we belong to that family. That belonging comes not by the participation of another, but by personal faith in Jesus Christ alone, for salvation is through Him alone and by no other name.

For God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. He is the God of Peace and He has prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation. He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation, that we should tell you plainly that all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ. This is the word we have to translate into todays language, that reconciliation is worked at once by the power of the Holy Spirit when a sinner looks to Christ crucified and risen. If you have not yet come to Him for yourself, come now, confessing your sin and trusting His blood alone. Then you will know by experience the peace with God and the joy which this reconciliation brings.

Concerning your household, take heart that family reformation begins with a return to Bethel, with a revival of religion throughout the whole house. If there has been active non participation on one hand and faithful seeking on the other, commit both to the Lord who judges righteously. Family prayer is the nutriment of family piety and the castle wherein God preserves His people. Though you cannot command the hearts of others, you can set your own face toward the Lord, maintain private prayer and, as God gives opportunity, family prayer, with double zeal drawing near unto God. It is far better to train a little family for Jesus, be it small or scattered, than to attempt a work to which you are not called. Who knows whether you are put in your family to be a blessing to your family for such a time as this.

We will pray for you, that El Elyon, who sees and sustains, would grant you first the sure adoption into His own family through faith in Christ, and then, according to His wisdom, would provide the godly fellowship and kinship for which you long, and would work healing and truth in your earthly family where there has been hurt and division. May He keep you from deep soul conflict by establishing your faith upon the finished work of Christ, and may He make your home, whether it be large or small, a place where Christ is honored, where marriage is held as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as God ordained, and where all life is lived in purity and in dependence upon Him.

May the Lord grant you to know that you are not alone, for Christ is with you, and to know that all things are yours if you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry for family has been heard, and your call of Help to the Lord Jesus, to El Elyon the Most High God, has been brought before Him with prayer.

You speak of a deep need for kin, for belonging, and of pain around those who have not taken part and your mother who did take part to gain entry for you. You ask what more she could have done, and that question itself shows honor toward her. Scripture commands us to honor father and mother, and Christ Himself shows us this way, for He was subject to His parents and even on the cross He provided for His mother with tender care. Where parents do not hinder what belongs to God, it is our bounden duty to give them honor, and to remember their labor with gratitude. If there has been hurt or distance in the family, hold fast to that command with lowliness of mind.

Lowliness is the mother of all good things. It keeps the mind safe and sober, not thinking more highly of itself than it ought to think, but counting others better than itself as Christ did. This humility does not mean that truth is set aside, but that we walk before God and before one another with a contrite and quiet heart, which God will not despise. In that spirit you can bear what you have suffered, forgive where forgiveness is needed, and seek reconciliation where it is possible, trusting God to work in hearts that have remained distant.

Christ also teaches us where to bring such burdens. He sent the multitudes away and went up into the mountain apart to pray, showing that quiet and retirement is good when we pray to God. The wilderness is the mother of quiet, a harbor from turmoil. Seek that quiet place to pour out your need for family before El Elyon. He is faithful, and salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and in Him we are given not only forgiveness but adoption into His household. The Church is His family, and He is able to provide true kinship and belonging according to His wisdom and love, while calling us to live according to His design for marriage and home as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with that union alone as the place for one flesh union.

Let us pray together. Lord Jesus Christ, You are El Elyon, the Most High, and there is no other name by which we are saved. Hear this cry for family. You know the history of participation and nonparticipation, the efforts of a mother and the pain of absence. Grant healing where there has been wounding, grant humility and meekness and long suffering, grant a quiet heart to seek You in prayer, and provide according to Your mercy a true home and faithful fellowship. Lead this life into rest both now and in the age to come, and keep this soul in Your grace. Amen.

Your cry for family and for belonging has been heard, and the longing you express is one that God understands deeply. When Jesus was told that His mother and brothers were outside wanting to speak with Him, He looked at those who were following Him and said that whoever does the will of His Father in heaven is His brother and sister and mother. He was not dishonoring His earthly family, but He was revealing a deeper bond that exists in the family of God.

That bond is often stronger than the bond of blood. When a person comes to faith in Jesus Christ, there can be a painful distance that forms with natural family members who do not share that faith, and many have experienced that alienation. Yet in coming to Christ you are brought into a new family where the ties are formed by a common life in Him, by being made one in Him through His love. This is the family that remains when other relationships grow cold or distant.

Scripture also teaches that love for Jesus must be first and above all other loves. It is not a call to hate mother or father or children, but to love Him more than all of them by comparison. He said that anyone who loves father or mother more than Him is not worthy of Him. It is a beautiful thing when an entire household loves and seeks the Lord together, but when that is not the case, the choice to follow Him must still come first. At the same time the Bible commands children to honor father and mother, and a mother's early training and influence is a great gift. We can honor our parents while still putting Christ on the throne of our hearts.

You mentioned your mother's participation and the nonparticipation of others in gaining entry, and you ask what more she could have done. The Lord sees what each person has done and what was in their heart to do. You are not held responsible for the choices of others, and you do not need to carry the weight of their inaction. What matters now is your own walk with the Lord and your own call to do the will of the Father.

There is a beautiful picture of this in the story of Ruth and Naomi and Boaz. Ruth left her own people and clung to her mother in law with devoted loyalty, saying she would go where Naomi went. Later Naomi sought rest and security for Ruth, and Boaz, who was a kinsman of the family, acted as the redeemer. Under the law a near kinsman could step in to keep the family inheritance and the family name alive when the family could not redeem it themselves. Boaz did that willingly and provided for them. In the same way Jesus Christ is our Kinsman Redeemer. He has stepped in to provide for us, to give us an inheritance and a name and a place in the family of God when we had no way to gain entry on our own.

Because of that, you do not need to go through another to reach Him. Nowhere does Scripture encourage seeking Mary or any other person to obtain favor from her Son. Jesus Himself asked, who is my mother, and then pointed to His disciples. He has opened the way Himself, and you are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace to make your requests known to God Most High, El Elyon, directly through Jesus.

Jesus also promised that there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for His sake and the gospel who will not receive a hundredfold now in this life in the family of God, along with eternal life to come. Though there may be sorrow over natural family division, God replaces it with the richness of brothers and sisters in Christ who love you, support you, and walk with you.

The way to reconciliation with God is through denying the self centered life, taking up the cross, and following Him in the power of the Spirit. As you do that, He will be with you as you walk forward, just as He promised to be with Jacob when He told him to return to his family and land.

May the Lord Jesus, your Redeemer, comfort your heart in this need for family. May He surround you with the fellowship of His people who will be true family to you, give you peace about your mother's part and release from what others did not do, and establish you firmly in His household where you belong. May you know today that you have direct access to El Elyon through Christ alone, and that in Him you have a name, an inheritance, and a home that will not be taken away.
