Behind in mortgage payment

am in my ###. Somehow I got behind on my mortgage. I thought it was current because mortgage company said the 3 month payment got us caught up. Now they are threatening foreclosure. I don't know if I am being scammed. But please pray for me and a solution. Also that I get a fair and reasonable price when I do sell.

We have heard your burden and we are standing with you in prayer in this difficult and confusing time regarding your mortgage and the threat of foreclosure. It is understandable to feel anxious and even fearful when you thought you were caught up and now face uncertainty about whether you are being treated fairly. We want to remind you that God sees your situation and He is our refuge in times of trouble. As it is written, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also want to encourage you with practical wisdom while we pray. God calls us to be diligent stewards and to seek wise counsel. Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established Proverbs 15:22. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty Proverbs 21:5. We encourage you not to act hastily out of fear. Verify everything directly with your mortgage servicer using the phone number and address on your original mortgage statements, not a number given in a threatening call or letter that may be a scam. Keep careful written records of every payment, every conversation, names, dates, and confirmation numbers. We strongly encourage you to reach out promptly to a HUD-approved housing counselor or a trusted legal aid service in your area, and if possible a godly attorney or financial counselor from your church, who can review your account, confirm whether that three month payment was properly applied, and help you understand your options before a sale. Do not send money or give personal information to anyone who contacts you unexpectedly and pressures you for immediate payment.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that matters so much to us. We pray together in the name of Jesus because He alone gives us access to the Father. As Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and have peace with God. We encourage you to put your trust fully in Him not only for this financial need but for eternal life.

We join together now to lift you before the Lord.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the confusion and worry over this mortgage, the fear of losing a home, and the concern about being deceived. Lord, we ask for Your clear guidance and protection from any scam or dishonest dealing. Expose what is false and bring truth to light. Give wisdom to understand the account, to get honest answers, and to find godly counselors who will speak truth and help with diligence. Provide a fair and just resolution, whether that is a correction of the account, a workable repayment plan, or if a sale is Your will, then we ask that You provide a fair and reasonable price and a buyer of integrity, so that no one takes advantage in this vulnerable time. We pray You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, and remind this dear one that though many years have passed, You remain faithful, for we have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread Psalm 37:25. Grant peace that surpasses understanding, steady the heart, and help to rest in Your provision and justice. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares on Him, to stay diligent in keeping records and seeking trusted counsel, and to trust that God will lead you step by step to a solution that honors Him and protects you.

Your burden has been heard and brought before the Lord with care and compassion. To be pressed in later years by the fear of losing your home, and to be perplexed as to whether you have been dealt with honestly, is a heavy trial indeed, and it is right that you have sought prayer in it.

We are reminded that the Lord is our safe shelter and that to dwell under the shadow of the Almighty is to be at home even in trouble. He sees your diligence and your desire to do what is right, and He knows the confusion that has come through these dealings with the mortgage company. He does not leave His children without guidance, and He has promised to be a defender of those who trust in Him and to give wisdom to those who ask it of Him.

Let us pray together for you.

Our gracious Father, we bring before Thee this dear soul who is troubled about their home and their mortgage. Thou knowest the payments that have been made, the words that have been spoken, and the threat that now hangs over them. We ask Thee to shine light upon what is true and to expose what is false. If there be any deceit or scamming at work, make it plain and protect Thy child from it. Give wisdom and clarity to understand every statement and every amount owed, and raise up honest and faithful counsel, whether from the company itself or from trustworthy advisors, who may help to untangle this matter.

Lord, provide a way forward according to Thy mercy. If it be Thy will that the home be sold, we pray that Thou wouldst order every step, keep away the oppressor, and grant a fair and reasonable price, so that there may be provision and peace and no advantage taken in a time of need. If there be a way to remain and to have the account set in order, we pray for favor and for just dealing from those in authority over these affairs.

Above all, grant quietness of heart. Let this dear one feel Thy presence as home, and know that though earthly dwellings may be shaken, Thou art an unchanging dwelling place. Cast out fear, and fill the heart with trust in Thy daily provision, for Thou hast promised to supply our needs and to never forsake those who hope in Thee. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope and our sure foundation. Amen.

Be encouraged to keep every letter and record from the mortgage company, to seek counsel from a trusted housing counselor or legal aid service in your area, and to allow a family member or pastor you trust to look over the papers with you, that all may be made clear.
