"Refuse all refugees" ... "We must nuke ISIS!!!"

What does this mean?

When the Lord decided that despite the fact that our righteousness is but filthy rags, when He noticed our wickedness, He chose to suffer and die for us instead of destroying us in His wrath. Jesus told us that we must pick up our cross and follow Him. He told us that we must die to ourselves and the things of this Earth. Are we truly followers of Christ if we are not willing to love these people even though they might cause us harm.

What if Jesus didn't die for us because He knew that we were going to spit on Him, reject Him, mock Him, torture Him? What if He changed His mind walking to Golgotha? What then?

Jesus told us that we must love our enemies. How is refusing the refugees loving them?

And nuking them ends any chance for them to meet Jesus. That would be doing exactly what the devil wants, sending these people who Jesus died for straight to Hell instead of praying for them. Do you love God if you do not love whom He loves? He loved us while we were still sinners. He loves them!

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." (James 1:27)

If you claim to love Jesus, You must obey Him, as He said, “If you love me, keep my commands." (John 14:15)

Here is what the Lord says:

Matthew 5:
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

To me, the current attitude of a lot of Christians regarding Muslims shows a sincere lack of faith in God. Do you believe God has everything under control? Do you truly trust your life to Him? Are you truly surrendered to Him, or do you love your life and have not given it to Him fully?

Matthew 25:
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

I'm not in the mindset to nuke anyone at all. This post did reveal to me that I am prejudiced, and that I had forgotten to continue praying for people who are suffering, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Lord, please forgive me for my shortcomings, sins, and please guide me into your light. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

God bless you! I've been thinking a lot about my own selfishness for the past few weeks. I thank the Lord that He is so loving. I pray He reveal all our shortcomings and draw us to Him in Jesus name.

"We both grew up Muslim," says ### of herself and her friend ###, who live in northwest China. "But now we follow Jesus. And didn't He say it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick? Why do people nowadays, even Christians, care more for the rich and abundant than the poor and needy...
