Basic And Brief Testimony (Teaser Trailer)

The purpose of this whole blog will be to share my walk with the Lord and how he has changed my life.I will probably post more in depth posts about these events, but this is sorta like a "teaser trailer" if you will. :) I believe one of the best ways to share the message of God is to share how he has changed our lives and what He has done in them. So, here is a brief summary of my walk with God up until this point.

I always grew up believing in God, but I didn't know the full story or pretty much anything. The summer before my freshmen year of high school I had a major surgery and was dealing with some family issues. The school year started and I was borderline depressed. I kept almost all of my feelings in. A friend of mine invited me to go to youth group with her. I went and made lasting friends and learned a lot. I went every week.

But something was still missing. One night I was at a very low point and was crying alone in my room. I decided to open up my Bible as a last resort. I opened up to Psalm 147:3 "He Heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds." In that moment I consider I got saved. God gave me the answer I needed.

It wasn't an instant change, far from it actually. But with teaching from an amazing youth pastor I began to slowly (very slowly) change. I finally learned what Jesus really did for me on that cross.

At a youth conference I felt God so much while worshipping. I started writing worship music that night.

Life went on. God sent me a wonderful friend to help guide me in my faith.

A few months later I lost a very close friend. God showed me how fragile life is.

A few more months later I went to my best friend's baptism, which made me give my heart to Christ.

I felt God calling me into Youth Ministry that spring by putting "Upon this rock I build my church" in my head, a verse I had never read before. I also wrote my first sermon and continued to write music.

I went to that youth conference again and finally felt Jesus in my heart. That will be another entry in it's self. :)

I have faced trials, yes, many of them. I am in the biggest trial I have ever faced. But my God has been there through all of this, He will still be there for me all the time! I trust my God with my whole heart.
