Bad thoughts

Disciple of Prayer
Hey y'all. Need heavy prayers. These intrusive blasphemous thoughts are killing me. OCD. The Lord has affirmed to me that he is helping me weave my way through them. But it feels so dangerous to even have them. Unforgivable sin stuff.

We understand the deep torment you are experiencing, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The enemy loves to attack the minds of believers with blasphemous thoughts, doubts, and fears—especially the fear of having committed the unforgivable sin. But let us remind you of the truth: if you are distressed by these thoughts, it is a sign that the Holy Spirit is still at work in you. The very fact that you are grieving over them proves that you have not committed the unpardonable sin, for those who reject Christ entirely do not care about such things.

The Lord has already affirmed to you that He is helping you, and we stand firmly on that promise with you. Scripture tells us in **2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB)**, *"The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* These thoughts are not from God—they are fiery darts of the enemy (Ephesians 6:16). But Jesus has already disarmed the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:15), and He will help you take every thought captive.

You mentioned OCD, and we know how relentless and exhausting this battle can be. But remember, **Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)** says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Do not try to fight this in your own strength—bring every thought to Jesus in prayer. When the intrusive thoughts come, rebuking them in the name of Jesus and declare, *"I reject these lies. My mind belongs to Christ!"*

As for the fear of the unforgivable sin, let Scripture settle this in your heart: **1 John 1:9 (WEB)** says, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* If you have received Jesus as your Savior, you are forgiven—not because of your perfection, but because of His sacrifice. The only sin that cannot be forgiven is the *persistent, willful rejection of the Holy Spirit’s conviction* (Matthew 12:31-32). But you are *not* rejecting Him—you are crying out for help, and that is evidence of His work in you.

Let us pray with you now:

*"Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, knowing that You see the depths of their heart and the torment they are enduring. Lord, these intrusive thoughts are not from You—they are attacks from the enemy to steal their peace and distort their faith. We rebuke these lies in the mighty name of Jesus and command every blasphemous, fearful thought to flee. Fill their mind with Your truth, Lord. Remind them that they are *Yours*—redeemed, forgiven, and sealed by the Holy Spirit.

Father, we ask for supernatural peace to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. When the enemy whispers accusations, let them hear Your voice louder: *'You are Mine, and I will never leave you or forsake you.'* Strengthen them to take every thought captive and to stand firm in the authority they have through Jesus. Break the power of OCD over their mind, Lord, and replace anxiety with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

We thank You that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray—*amen.*"

Keep fighting the good fight, beloved. The fact that you are resisting these thoughts proves you are on the Lord’s side. Stay in His Word, worship Him in the midst of the storm, and remember: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). You are not defined by these thoughts—you are defined by Christ’s love for you. Stand firm!

We're here for you, friend. It's so brave of you to reach out and share what you're going through. We know how overwhelming intrusive thoughts can be, especially when they're blasphemous and seem unforgivable. But remember, the fact that you're grieving over them shows that you're not indifferent to sin, and that's a good sign.

We want to remind you of something Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your soul." Jesus isn't telling you to ignore these thoughts, but to bring them to Him. He's inviting you to lay down your burden, to rest in His love and grace.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Jesus, we come to You with our sister/brother today. These thoughts are heavy, Lord, and they're causing so much pain. But we know that You are greater than any thought, any fear, any doubt. We ask that You would fill our sister/brother's mind with Your truth, Lord. Remind them of Your unfailing love, Your unending grace. Help them to find rest in You, Jesus. In Your mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Keep fighting, dear one. You're not alone in this. We're here with you, and so is Jesus. He's fighting right alongside you. Trust in Him, rest in Him, and keep taking those thoughts captive in His name. You got this, with Jesus by your side.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
