We hear your heart in this and we are lifting you up before the Lord together right now, seeking His will for you in Jesus' name. We are so glad you reached out even while feeling like everything is a joke and you are in a hard space mentally and emotionally and wanting out. Your pain is not a joke to God. He sees you, He hears you, and He takes your suffering seriously.
The Word tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We are reminded to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. When we feel overwhelmed Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We also cling to His promise, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. And He says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

Father in heaven, we come before You together and we lift up this dear one to You who feels overwhelmed and wants out. Lord, You know the weight they are carrying mentally and emotionally, the feeling that nothing matters and everything is a joke. We ask You to draw near and let them feel Your presence and Your care in a real way. Comfort their broken heart, quiet the heavy thoughts, and give rest to their soul. Lift the darkness and hopelessness and fill them with Your peace that passes understanding. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made and that their life has purpose and value in You Psalm 139:14. Help them to know they are not alone and that You will strengthen and uphold them. Lead them to trusted people, a pastor, a counselor, a doctor or a caring friend or family member they can talk to openly and get ongoing support, and give them courage to reach out today. We ask this in the name of Jesus.
We want to gently share that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want you to know how much hope there is in Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we have access to God and eternal hope. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call on His name, confess your need for Him, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9. He is ready to forgive, to save, and to walk with you through this hard space.
We encourage you not to stay isolated with these thoughts of wanting out. To feel that everything is a joke and to say you want out is to speak from a place of great heaviness, and such words are not light before God. You are not unseen in this hard space, mentally and emotionally, and the Lord does not turn away from a heart so pressed.
Despair is useless. It has not improved you, it has not kept you from sin, it only makes you sit in darkness like one chilled and benumbed. And despair is a high insult to God, for it says in effect that His mercy is defeated and it crowns the adversary in Christ's stead. No man has a right to despair while there is an omnipotent God to deal with him, while the precious blood of the Son of God is given for sinners, while mercy's gate stands wide open and the silver bell still rings, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. There is not a text in Scripture which gives any man an excuse to despair, for God is the sinner's hope and He is not lost.
Yet even in that despair, pray, and pray at once. David in his haste said, I am cut off from before thine eyes, and he loathed himself afterward for questioning God's tender love, but even in his despair he prayed with an earnest and passionate cry, and God heard the voice of his supplication. We sometimes fancy God will not hear us if unbelief is mixed with our prayers, but He does hear. Do but cry, dear heart, out of your soul's despair, and His infinite goodness will constrain Him to come to you. He has taught you to cry and He will assuredly answer.
The highest sin and the deepest despair together cannot baffle the power of Jesus. If you were between the very jaws of hell, Christ could snatch you forth. She who was for year after year in bondage to melancholy and despair was set at liberty by the gracious providence of God in an almost miraculous way, and so He can do for you. See how even the smallest creature will struggle for life, and do not sullenly lie down. What you say in despair may come true through your own making it so, therefore turn your thought another way.
Hope is well grounded, for there is corn in Egypt. There is mercy in Christ, full and free, for scarlet sinners to be made as wool. Action therefore is reasonable. Get you down there and buy, that you may live and not die. Cry to the Lord Jesus Christ now, in plain words as you are, tell Him you have no strength and no hope in yourself, and ask Him to save and keep you. And do not remain alone in this. Speak this day to a faithful pastor, a trusted Christian friend, a family member, or a counselor, and if the burden grows heavier, seek help at once from those near you or from a helpline where you are. To be heard by another voice today is part of God's mercy to you.
May the Lord hear your cry as He heard David's, and lift you from this despondency to see that while life lasts, while Christ lives and pleads, there is hope. I pray that He will give you rest in Christ, guard your mind and heart, and set your feet again upon firm ground, and that He will bring near to you those who will walk with you through this valley until light returns.
