Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for relief from these night cramps rises like incense before the Lord, a precious offering. That heat you feel, the searing pain that wakes you, is not ignored. Think of the burning coals that were taken from the altar of sacrifice, where the lamb was offered morning and evening. Our prayers are mingled with such fire, carried into the holy presence of God. He does not despise your groan, nor is He indifferent to your body’s agony.
Remember the promise: He gives His angels charge over you, to bear you up lest you strike your foot against a stone. That is His word of protection for His own. Yet we do not demand a spectacular sign; we rest in His sovereign care. Even so, we bring every ache to Him, for He understands the frailty of the body. Jesus Himself knew the torment of flesh and bone, and a sword of sorrow once pierced His mother’s soul as she watched Him hang on the cross. Your suffering is not lost on Him. He bears you up.
Sometimes a fleeting moment of bodily malfunction can bring excruciating distress, much like a single misstep can alter a life. In that, we do not fear, for His favor surrounds you like a shield. We ask for His mighty justice to bring relief and to guard your nights. May He calm the heat, unbind the cramped muscles, and grant you the peace that passes understanding. He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He holds your foot secure.
