As is often the case, scripturally, those things that look, smell or sound dirty, are actually God's agents of cleaning: you know inner cup vs. outer cup; that whole book, cover, thing . . . That's just how God rolls.
No doubt bacteria can lead to disease (i.e. sin) idolatry, adultery, hatred, coveting lying, cheating, stealing, killing, gluttony, etc. But, before you start scrubbing, know what kind of bacteria your dealing with. Sometimes, what may look like harmful bacteria, could indeed be inoculation: penicillin used to cure and even block against sin.
[
Hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand. O' hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand . . .
] Amen.

Note to the church at Corinth: It's really not that difficult to discern: If it leads to, causes, approves of, ignores, covers up, or otherwise enables sin; it's bad bacteria.
PREACH MARIAN! . . . I will.
