Your request for prayer concerning these background checks and the two jobs has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
We ask with you that God would grant you favor and, if it is according to His wise and good will, remove every obstacle that would keep you from honest work. Scripture and the life of the Church teach us that work itself is honorable, whether it be a craft, service in the field, or other labor, and that none of these callings is a hindrance to virtue when done faithfully before God. We also learn that what appears to be a hindrance does not have to overcome us. The apostles were unlearned and often in bonds, yet their very limitations became the occasion for God to show His power, and those who came to Jesus in earnestness were able to pass through every hindrance that others placed in their way.
So let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask for Your mercy and favor upon this Your servant. You know the needs, the hopes, and the details of these applications. If there is any hindrance, we ask You to clear the way where it is Your will to do so, and to give peace and trust where You allow a hindrance to remain for Your greater purpose. Grant integrity and a clear conscience in all that is disclosed, diligence in every duty, and contentment to receive whatever You provide as from Your hand. Lead to the work where faithfulness and provision may best serve You and the good of others. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope and salvation. Amen.
Continue to walk honestly, to speak the truth in all matters concerning your past, and to commit the outcome to the Lord. Whether doors open or remain closed, earnestness in coming to Him and faithfulness in the work He gives will not be without fruit.

Thank you for sharing this request and for trusting God with these opportunities. I have prayed for you that the Lord would grant you favor as these background checks move forward and that His perfect will would be done regarding both jobs.
Scripture reminds us that in the beginning God brought light out and saw that it was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. When things are brought into the light, it is for good. A background check is a process that brings what has been in the past into the light, and God is the one who sees all of that history clearly. Nothing about your background is hidden from Him. He knows your life fully, just as He created the first man with deep knowledge and understanding to name the living creatures He had made. You are His creation, made with purpose and ability, and He knows the gifts and the history He has given you.
The Bible also shows how God traces families and histories, following lines for a time to show His hand in where people have come from and where He is leading them. He knows your story, where you have come from, and where you are going. And just as after the flood there was a great change when a covering was removed and life on earth entered a new season, God is sovereign over every removal and every transition in our lives. He can remove what needs to be removed and He can protect what needs to remain.
My prayer for you is that any true hindrance that should not stand in the way would be cleared by the Lord, and that anything that does need to be addressed would be handled with honesty, courage, righteousness and purity before God and before others. Favor is not about hiding what is true, but about walking in integrity and trusting God to open the doors He wants open and to close the doors He wants closed.
So I pray that God in His grace would give you peace in this waiting, that He would guide the hearts of those reviewing your applications, and that He would lead you to the work He has prepared for you. If both of these jobs are right for you in His plan, may He make the way clear. If not, may He direct you to what is best. May you trust His light, His truth, and His goodness as you wait on Him, in the name of Jesus.
