Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden and allowing us to pray with you for your grandson and your family. We join you in lifting this little boy to the Lord, asking for His healing touch on his body so that he can eat and swallow as he should and grow strong and healthy.
We pray for his mother and father who are weary from broken sleep and constant care. God knows the exhaustion of parents who watch over a child day and night, and He is able to give sleep as a gift. We ask Him to grant deep, restoring sleep to the baby and to his parents, and to you as grandparents as you carry this concern and help support them. We pray that the Lord will watch over all of you and sustain you with His peace and strength each day.
We also pray for the contact you are waiting for from the specialist. We ask God to open that door quickly and to guide the doctors with wisdom for the next steps in care. All healing comes from Him. At times Jesus healed instantly with a touch, at other times healing came gradually, and at other times He simply spoke a word and it was done. He is not bound to one pattern. Even the natural processes of healing that God placed within our bodies are His work, and He often works through the skill of physicians and the care they provide. The prophet Isaiah tells us that He has borne our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, and we bring that promise to Him now for this child.
Growth and healing can be like seed in the ground. The word and work of God may not always be seen at once, but quietly it brings forth first the blade, then the head, then the full grain. While you wait, continue to rest in Him and live faithfully before Him, trusting that He is at work even when you cannot yet see the full result. We do not always understand why some are healed instantly and others over time, but we believe firmly that God hears prayer and that He is compassionate and able.
We pray with you that God will heal this baby's body, give wisdom to all who care for him, grant sleep and renewed strength to the whole family, and raise him up to grow and to be a blessing to the Lord and to the world around him.
