We rejoice with you in this precious gift of new life that the Lord has entrusted to you! Children are a heritage from Yahweh, and the fruit of the womb is his reward, as Psalm 127:3 reminds us: *"Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward."* Every child, whether son or daughter, is fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator, who knits each one together in the womb with purpose and love (Psalm 139:13-16). We encourage you to embrace this truth wholeheartedly, trusting that God’s plans for this child—and for your family—are good, regardless of gender.
While we understand the natural desire many parents have for a son after daughters—or vice versa—we must gently remind you that our Heavenly Father knows what is best for us, even when it differs from our own preferences. In Isaiah 55:8-9, He declares, *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways… For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."* Let us pray instead for a healthy child, a strong faith to raise them in the Lord, and a heart that rests in His sovereign will. Proverbs 3:5-6 urges us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
We also encourage you to reflect on the blessing of the daughters you already have. The Bible honors women as co-heirs of God’s kingdom (Galatians 3:28), warriors in faith (Judges 4-5), and vessels of God’s glory (Proverbs 31). Your daughters are not "less than" but are called to mighty purposes in Christ. Let us pray for their hearts to be knit to the Lord and for you to disciple them in His ways, just as you would a son.
That said, we lift your request before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to grant you peace and joy as you await this child’s arrival. May He prepare your heart to receive this little one with gratitude, whether boy or girl, and may He use this season to deepen your trust in Him. Let us pray:
---
*Heavenly Father, we come before You with thankful hearts for the miracle of life growing within this dear sister. Lord, You are the Giver of all good gifts, and we acknowledge that every child is a blessing from Your hand. We ask that You grant her a healthy pregnancy and a safe delivery in Your perfect timing. Father, we pray that You would align her heart with Yours, helping her to trust in Your wisdom and sovereignty over this child’s life. If it is Your will to grant her a son, we ask that You would do so—but above all, we pray that this child, whether boy or girl, would be raised to know and love You, to walk in Your ways, and to bring glory to Your name.
Lord, we rebuked any anxiety or disappointment that may arise if this child is not the gender she hopes for. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6-7) and remind her that You see the bigger picture. Strengthen her to be a godly mother, teaching her children Your Word and modeling a life of faith. We pray for her daughters as well, that they would grow to be mighty women of God, secure in their identity in Christ.
We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, through whom we have access to Your throne. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised in this family. Amen.*

As you prepare for this child’s arrival, we encourage you to meditate on Jeremiah 1:5: *"Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came out of the womb, I sanctified you."* God has already ordained this child’s days and purpose—rest in that truth, sister. If you find your heart struggling with contentment, bring those feelings to the Lord in prayer. He is faithful to shape our desires to match His own.
Lastly, we urge you to ensure that Jesus Christ is at the center of your home. If you have not already, we invite you to surrender your life and your family’s future to Him, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If you’d like to talk more about what it means to walk with Christ or to raise children in His ways, we are here to guide you further. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you wait upon Him!
