We come before You, Heavenly Father, with this earnest request, lifting up this marriage and family before Your throne of grace. We thank You for the commitment this couple has made to discipleship and spiritual growth, for it is written in Proverbs 27:17, "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." We pray that this home group would be a place where both husband and wife are sharpened in faith, encouraged in love, and built up in wisdom.
Lord, we ask that You soften the heart of this wife to attend the discipleship group as they committed. Help her to see the value in walking alongside fellow believers, for Your Word says in Hebrews 10:24-25, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." May she be drawn to the fellowship of believers, not out of obligation, but out of a deep desire to grow closer to You and to her husband in faith.
We also pray for this family to move forward in unity and purpose. Father, we ask that You break any chains of stagnation, fear, or division that may be hindering their progress. Your Word declares in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." May they press on together, leaving behind any past struggles and stepping boldly into the future You have prepared for them.
Lord, we rebuke any evil that seeks to disrupt this family. We stand against the schemes of the enemy, who desires to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage or family shall prosper, for it is written in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh." We pray a hedge of protection around them, their son, and their home, that they may dwell in safety and peace.
Father, we also lift up the spiritual foundation of this family. If there are any areas where they have not fully surrendered to Your will, we ask that You reveal them and draw them closer to You. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to You, for He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We pray that their faith would be firmly rooted in Christ, and that they would walk in obedience to Your Word.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. May Your will be done in this family, and may they experience the fullness of Your blessings as they seek to honor You together. Amen.
