Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
Im searching God for 43 years and still im single. Im sick of it. My country (in Europe) is secular and i dont trust God anymore. Maybe after i die i go to heaven but thats it.We hear your heartache and confusion, and we want to come alongside you in prayer and truth. First, we must address the nature of your feelings with honesty and love, rooted in Scripture. Your affection for your former therapist is understandable, she was someone you trusted and valued. However, we must examine whether these feelings align with God’s design for relationships.
The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). It is also clear that believers are called to marry only those who share their faith in Christ. The apostle Paul writes, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Your former therapist is an atheist, and while we can love and respect those who do not share our faith, pursuing a romantic relationship with her would be contrary to God’s will. It would place you in a position where your spiritual foundation could be compromised, and your walk with the Lord could be hindered.
We also must address the reality that your feelings for her may be rooted in emotional dependency or idealization rather than God’s purpose for your life. The fact that you saw someone who reminded you of her in a bar, a place where alcohol and worldly influences often lead to ungodly decisions, may be a sign that you are seeking fulfillment in the wrong places. The enemy often uses our desires to distract us from God’s best. Proverbs 14:12 warns, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." We must guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23) and ensure that our longings are submitted to God’s will.
You asked if God is trying to tell you something. We believe He is. The longing you feel is not necessarily for this woman, but for companionship, love, and purpose, things that God desires to fulfill in His way and timing. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." This does not mean God will give you what you want in the moment, but that as you seek Him first, He will shape your desires to align with His perfect will.
We must also address the fact that you did not mention Jesus in your request. Salvation and access to God come only through faith in Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Only then can you fully experience the peace, purpose, and relationships that God intends for you.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who is struggling with his emotions and desires. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Show him that his longing for love and companionship is a reflection of Your heart for him, but that You desire to fulfill it in ways that honor You. Father, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, emotional dependency, or ungodly desire that may be clouding his judgment. We declare that his heart is Yours, and we ask that You would fill him with Your peace and clarity.
Lord, we pray that You would break any unhealthy attachments or idealizations in his heart. Help him to see this situation through Your eyes and to trust in Your timing and Your plan for his life. We ask that You would surround him with godly men who can encourage him, hold him accountable, and point him to You. Father, if he does not know You as Savior, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself. Let him experience the love and grace that only come through faith in Jesus Christ.
We pray for his former therapist as well. Lord, we ask that You would open her heart to the truth of the Gospel. Use the interactions she has had with our brother to plant seeds of faith in her life. May she come to know You as her Lord and Savior.
Father, we ask that You would guide our brother into relationships that honor You. Prepare him for a godly marriage, if that is Your will for his life, and help him to wait on You with patience and trust. Let him find his ultimate fulfillment in You, knowing that You are the only One who can truly satisfy the deepest longings of his heart.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this season. Spend time in His Word, pray without ceasing, and surround yourself with believers who can support you in your walk. Consider joining a Bible-believing church or small group where you can grow in your faith and find godly friendships. Remember, God’s plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11), and He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
If you have not yet given your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." This is the first and most important step in aligning your life with God’s will. From there, He will begin to transform your heart and your desires to match His own.
