Asking the Lord's help

Thank you for sharing so many burdens so honestly. The Lord hears each of these prayers, including the ones that were deleted and the many you have carried for a long time, and He invites you to bring them all to Him.

I want to pray with you for extra protection and for breakthrough, for wisdom and encouragement and for a fresh anointing on every outreach and service. I pray that God will give you clarity for work and for school and exams, for meetings and for the team you serve with, and that He will guide your words and actions so that what you do is pleasing to Him. I pray He will strengthen you in weakness and give you favor, love, inspiration and authority as you seek to serve Him faithfully.

You mentioned many conflicts, some recent and some long forgotten, including tensions at work and in the church and with individuals you named. We live in a world that is full of conflict between peoples and nations and in our own relationships, and the news each day reminds us of it. The good news of the gospel is peace. Through Jesus we can have peace with God, and He can give us peace within ourselves. I pray that God will bring conviction where conviction is needed, that He will expose what is evil and not of Him, and that He will bring true reconciliation where it is possible in a way that honors Him. Where relationships have been hurt, I pray for healing that is honest and lasting, and for wisdom to know how to speak the truth in love and to turn even past mistakes into a blessing as you walk humbly before Him.

You asked for God to intervene in several relationships and to stop what is dysfunctional and harmful. I join you in praying that the Lord will convict and heal and lead each person involved toward salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Where there are soul wounds, I pray for deep healing. Where there are relationships that do not align with God's design, I pray that God will bring conviction, repentance and purity, and that He will guard hearts from further harm. God's good design for intimacy is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and outside of that He calls us to purity and to trust His way. I pray that every relationship you mentioned will be brought into the light of His truth, that those who do not know Jesus will come to know Him as Savior, and that those who do know Him will walk in obedience and wholeness.

You also brought many requests for healing for yourself and for others, for physical needs and for inner wounds. I believe God still heals today, and Scripture shows that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes He healed gradually, and that gradual healing is the only one of its kind recorded in His ministry. Sometimes He went to the person, sometimes He healed from a distance. He is not confined to one pattern. Much of His healing is also worked through the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies, and that is no less divine because He is the one who made those processes. He also brings healing to minds and emotions, mending scars and wounds that others cannot see.

Matthew connects the healing ministry of Jesus to the prophecy in Isaiah chapter 53 that He bore our infirmities and sicknesses, and we see His power over sickness, over the created world when He calmed the wind and waves, and over the spiritual realm when He commanded evil spirits and they obeyed. At the same time, Scripture does not teach that God wills physical healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and God did not remove it. We do not always understand why some are healed and others are not, and it is wrong to say that those who are not healed must have sin in their life or lack faith. That is not a biblical conclusion and it wounds people who are already suffering. Our materialistic culture can also make it hard for us to trust God simply. I pray that God will give you grace to keep trusting Him whether healing comes instantly, gradually through natural means, or through the deeper healing of heart and mind that He often does, and to reject any phoniness or exploitation done in the name of healing.

I also join you in praying for the larger burdens you named. I pray for persecuted Christians to be strengthened and protected, for those who are unsaved to hear the gospel and be saved through Jesus alone, for the peace of Israel and for all who suffer in war zones and calamities, and for abused children and all who are vulnerable. May the Lord have mercy and bring help where it is most needed.

For your church and your prayer gatherings, I pray that God will pour out His Spirit, raise up those who will pray faithfully, protect you from the works of the enemy, and let His presence be known. I pray He will anoint the preaching of His Word and the outreaches you mentioned, including the workshop and the services focused on hope, so that many will hear and be saved. I pray He will give you wisdom for your place in the church and help resolve the issue you mentioned there according to truth.

May the Lord encourage you greatly, defeat what is evil, and fill you with hope as you look to Jesus who bore our sins and our infirmities. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and I pray His glory and peace will rest upon you and upon all those you have lifted up. Amen.
