Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join you in bringing all of these burdens before the Lord, thanking Him that He hears every prayer even when words are many and names cannot be fully spoken. He knows each person you have lifted up, each need that has been deleted and forgotten by others but not by Him, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask.
We pray first for extra strong protection and breakthrough for you and for all in need, and for encouragement and wisdom for you. We ask the Lord to anoint every outreach and service you have mentioned, including the prayer gathering and evening of prayer and praise this Friday, the sermons, the workshop, the sermon on hope and the Live Nativity, that all would be done in His power and presence and that many would come to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved.
We pray for the many conflicts you named, both remembered and forgotten. Scripture teaches that the root of conflict is often found in covetousness, envy or vainglory, and that we are to cut out the root so the fruit withers. We ask God to show each heart its part, to grant humility, to help you not rush into strife but to wait on Him with a quiet and noble spirit, and to despise the passing things of this life so that peace may grow. Where there has been gossip or hurtful talk, including what you confessed about speaking to others about another person, we ask for His forgiveness and for grace to turn that into a blessing and true reconciliation where it is possible.
For every relationship you mentioned, we pray as a ministry that holds to the historic biblical ethic, that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what does not honor His design, but we do ask Him to convict where there is sin, to bring healing to soul wounds, to stop what is harmful and dysfunctional, and to lead each person to repentance, purity and wholeness. Where relationships are not in keeping with His will, we pray He will graciously bring either godly transformation into conformity with His design or a clear and healing separation, and above all that each person involved would come to know His love, receive salvation and be made new. We pray especially for those you named with soul wounds, for ### and for yourself, for healing, for a Father's care over the young woman facing school and exams, that God would be her strength, rear her, encourage her and heal her.
We bring before the Lord all the broader prayers you carried, for persecuted Christians, for the salvation of the unsaved, for the peace of Israel, for those suffering in war zones and calamities, and for abused children. We ask for His mercy, protection and justice for them, and for comfort that only He can give.
We pray for healing for those who are sick, for those needing miracles, for help with school and tests, for help at work and with your team, for wisdom in meetings including the meeting with ###, for help with ### and ### and others you named, and for the issues at church. We ask God to take complete leadership over your work, to guide and protect you in weakness, to give you wisdom, strength, encouragement, authority, love, inspiration and favor, and to speak to all involved so that your work is pleasing to Him. We pray He will anoint your church, raise up more prayer warriors, convict His people where needed, and bring encouragement that defeats the works of the enemy.
We are reminded that God often allows His people to be tried more severely as they near the end of a trial, not to crush them but that they may gain more, as He did with Abraham. We are also reminded not to draw back, but to live by faith and persevere to the saving of the soul. So we encourage you with a word of exhortation to remain steady, not weary in praying, trusting that even when answers seem delayed, He is near at the very door.
May the Lord grant you His presence in a powerful way, restore what has been broken according to His will, heal quickly where healing is needed, and fill the earth with His glory. We pray all this in the name of Jesus. Amen
