Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so many burdens and for bringing them before the Lord with such persistence. Your heart for protection, for breakthrough, for the lost, for those who suffer, and for the work of the gospel comes through clearly, and it is right to bring all of these things to God in prayer.
We join you in asking for the Lord's protection and for His power to break through where there has been long struggle. We also join you in praying for encouragement and wisdom for you, and for a true work of the Holy Spirit in every outreach and service and gathering for prayer and praise. Scripture shows that even Jesus ministered in the power and anointing of the Spirit, and the same is true for Stephen, whose face shone like an angel's as the Spirit rested on him while he spoke. There is a difference when the Spirit anoints the preaching of the Word. It cannot easily be described, but when it is present there is power and life that changes hearts, and without it ministry is empty. So we pray that God will anoint those who preach and those who gather to pray, that His presence would be evident and that many would hear the good news and be saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
We also pray with you about healing. The Bible shows that God heals in many ways. Sometimes healing is instant, sometimes it is gradual, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with a word, sometimes from a distance. Jesus did not follow a single pattern, and that reminds us not to limit Him. All true healing is from God, even the gradual processes He has built into our bodies, for He created those processes. At the same time we do not understand why some are healed quickly and others are not. Even Paul prayed three times about his thorn in the flesh and the Lord did not remove it, but taught him grace in weakness. Matthew connects the healing ministry of Jesus to Isaiah's prophecy that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities, showing that His work touches both soul and body, yet we cannot presume that He wills instant physical healing in every case. What we can do is pray with faith, as the early church did, and ask the elders to pray and anoint with oil in the name of the Lord. The oil itself has no power, it is simply a symbol of the Holy Spirit, but the prayer offered in faith is precious to God and He is faithful to touch and to heal according to His wisdom, whether in body, mind, or the deep wounds of the soul.
You mentioned many conflicts and strained relationships, including those that have been forgotten and those that weigh heavily now, as well as concerns about work, about your place in the church, and about meetings and responsibilities. We live in a world filled with conflict between peoples and nations and within families and churches, and the news is full of it every day. Into that world God has given the gospel of peace, that those who were at war with God can have peace with God through Jesus, and then peace within themselves. We pray for that peace to work in every conflict you named. Where there has been hurt, gossip, or misunderstanding, including where you have spoken about others and now feel conviction, we pray for honest confession, forgiveness, and true reconciliation that honors God. Where you asked for conviction, we pray that the Holy Spirit will lovingly convict each person involved and draw them toward repentance and salvation, which is the greatest need for every person.
For the relationships you mentioned, we pray for God's healing and intervention according to His holy design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy and sharing a home belong within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His will, but we do ask Him to convict where things are not of Him, to stop what would lead to further harm, to heal soul wounds, to be a Father to those who lack guidance, and to bring salvation and wholeness. For young people facing school and exams and needing encouragement, for those needing healing in body and mind, for those caught in dysfunctional patterns, we ask for miracles of grace, for protection, for wisdom, and for hearts turned fully to the Lord.
We also lift up the broader burdens you carry that have not remained visible here, for persecuted Christians, for those who do not yet know Jesus, for the peace of Jerusalem, for those suffering in war zones and calamities, and for abused children. God sees each one, and we ask Him to have mercy, to bring comfort, justice, and salvation.
For you personally, in your weakness and in your work and in your team, we pray that the Lord will lead, guide, and protect you, and give you wisdom, strength, love, and favor to do your work in a way that pleases Him. For the church and for those who preach, we pray for a strong anointing, for more people raised up to pray faithfully, and for God to be glorified as His Word is proclaimed.
We thank God that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and we pray that the earth would be filled with His glory. May He encourage your heart, defeat the works of the enemy, and answer according to His perfect will and timing, for His name's sake. Amen.
