Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly the many burdens you are carrying and for wanting to bring them all before the Lord. Your heart for protection and breakthrough, for wisdom and encouragement, for the lost to be saved, for those who suffer in war and calamity, for persecuted believers, for peace for Israel, for abused children, and for healing and reconciliation in so many personal relationships is precious to God, and He hears every prayer you offer in the name of Jesus.
In a world that is filled with conflict between peoples and nations, the gospel remains good news of peace. Through Jesus, those who were at war with God can have peace with God, and that peace can then bring peace within ourselves. That is the hope we cling to as we pray for the conflicts you mentioned, including those that are forgotten or long standing, and for the tensions at work and in the church. We ask the Lord to work conviction where conviction is needed, to bring healing where there is hurt, and to lead toward true reconciliation that honors Him.
You have asked for healing for many people and for yourself. Scripture shows that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Matthew connects the ministry of Jesus to what Isaiah foretold, that He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. The Gospels show that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly, sometimes healing came gradually, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes by going to the person and sometimes from a distance. He was not confined to one pattern. We also recognize that God has established healing processes within our bodies, and those natural processes are still from Him, for He created nature itself. Healing is not only physical. The Lord also brings healing to the mind and emotions, mending deep wounds and scars within.
At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. We believe strongly that God does heal today, and we pray with faith for healing, yet we do not presume to know His will in every case. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for a thorn in the flesh to be removed and the Lord answered differently. Not everyone is healed in the way we ask or when we ask, and when that happens it is wrong to say it must be because of sin or lack of faith. We leave these mysteries in the hands of a loving and sovereign God, trusting His power in the physical realm over sickness, His power over the created world, and His authority over spiritual powers, while we continue to ask Him for mercy.
For the relationships you mentioned, we join you in praying for what is truly good and healing according to Scripture. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and marriage is His covenant of one man and one woman for life, with intimacy belonging within that covenant. Instead we pray that the Lord will convict where there is sin, bring repentance and salvation, heal soul wounds, stop what is harmful and dysfunctional, and guard hearts from further harm. For the young person you mentioned facing school and exams, and for others who need a father’s care and encouragement, we ask that the Lord would be near as a Father, bring healing, strength to study, and peace of mind.
We pray for your work and for your team, for wisdom and favor in meetings, for strength and inspiration to do your work in a way that pleases the Lord, and for His protection and guidance over all you do. We pray for your place in the church, for the sermons and for the outreaches and services you have planned, and for your times of prayer and praise, that the Lord would anoint them, draw many to hear the gospel, raise up more who love to pray, and bring encouragement and protection from the works of the enemy. We ask Him to speak clearly to you and to all, to give wisdom, strength, love and encouragement, and to turn even past mistakes and painful words into blessing as you walk humbly before Him.
May the Lord grant you extra strength and protection, lift your spirit when you feel weak, and fill you with confidence that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. We trust Him to do what is best in each situation you have lifted up, to bring salvation to the unsaved, comfort to the suffering, and glory to His name throughout the earth. In Jesus name, Amen.
