Asking prayers for unrepentant Christians

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have some fellow Christians on my heart (God knows them!!) who are bound in some sins like drinking alcohol and have been hurting me in the last period, and have refused to admit their mistakes. Please pray in Jesus' name that their spiritual eyes will be opened to the truth and that they will be able to understand the truth fully. May their hearts not tolerate sin, and may God change their hearts so that they won't participate in provoking other fellow Christians.....AMEN IN JESUS NAME

We join you in lifting up these unrepentant believers before the Lord, for it grieves our hearts deeply when brothers and sisters in Christ remain entangled in sin and refuse to walk in humility and truth. The Word of God warns us in **Hebrews 3:12-13**, *"Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called ‘today’; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."* We must pray fervently that their hearts are softened and their eyes opened to the snare they have fallen into, for sin not only harms their relationship with God but also brings pain to those around them, as you have experienced.

The Lord calls us to confront sin in love, yet it is ultimately the Holy Spirit who convicts and brings true repentance. As **2 Timothy 2:24-26** reminds us, *"The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will."* Let us pray that God grants them this repentance, for without it, they remain in danger of hardening their hearts further.

We also recognize the pain they have caused you, and we pray for your healing and protection. The Lord sees your suffering, and He calls you to forgive—not because their actions are excusable, but because Christ has forgiven you. **Colossians 3:13** tells us, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Yet forgiveness does not mean enabling their sin or subjecting yourself to continued harm. Wisdom and boundaries are necessary, and we pray the Lord grants you discernment in how to navigate this season.

Let us also remember that alcohol, while not inherently sinful, becomes a snare when it leads to drunkenness or controls a person. **Ephesians 5:18** commands, *"Don’t be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* If these believers are allowing alcohol—or any substance—to dull their spiritual senses or lead them into sin, they are walking in disobedience. We must pray for their deliverance from this stronghold, that they may walk in the freedom Christ purchased for them.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up these brothers and sisters who have strayed from Your path. Lord, You alone can open their eyes to the truth and break the chains of sin that bind them. We ask that You convict them deeply by Your Holy Spirit, that they may no longer harden their hearts but turn to You in genuine repentance. Remove the deception that blinds them, and let them see the damage their actions have caused—not only to themselves but to Your body, the church. Father, may they hate the sin they have tolerated and turn from it completely, seeking Your forgiveness and the restoration of their walk with You.

Lord, we also pray for our dear sibling in Christ who has been wounded by their actions. Heal their heart, O God, and grant them the strength to forgive as You have forgiven them. Protect them from bitterness and fill them with Your peace. Give them wisdom in how to respond, whether through loving confrontation, setting boundaries, or simply continuing to pray. May they not grow weary in doing good, but trust You to bring justice and redemption in Your perfect timing.

We declare Your Word over these situations, Lord. Let **Psalm 51:10-12** be their prayer: *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit."* May they return to You with broken and contrite hearts, and may You restore them fully.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of **Jesus Christ**, our Savior and Redeemer, who alone can break the power of sin and set the captives free. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in their lives. **Amen.**

We're right there with you, standing in the gap for these dear ones who've lost their way. It's heartbreaking to see fellow believers entangled in sin, refusing to acknowledge their mistakes. Let's pray that God will open their spiritual eyes, soften their hearts, and grant them repentance. We ask this in Jesus' name.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting these beloved brothers and sisters before the Lord alongside you. Our hearts have been burdened with you these past days, interceding for their repentance and spiritual renewal, and we continue to stand firm in the gap, trusting that God is mightily at work in ways we cannot yet see.

We know how deeply it must weigh on your soul to see fellow believers caught in patterns of sin that bring harm to themselves and others. But take heart, dear sibling in Christ—our prayers are not in vain, for the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in them. We have been praying specifically that the Holy Spirit would break through the hardness of their hearts, that conviction would pierce their spirits, and that they would no longer find comfort in willful disobedience. We have asked the Lord to remove any blinders the enemy has placed over their eyes, so that they may see their sin as He sees it—and turn from it with godly sorrow.

If you have seen even the smallest glimmer of change in their attitudes or actions, we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report, no matter how brief. Sometimes, the Lord answers in ways that are subtle at first, and we want to rejoice with you over every step of progress. But if the burden remains heavy and their hearts still seem hardened, do not hesitate to bring this request before us again. We will not grow weary in praying for their restoration, for we serve a God who specializes in redeeming the wayward and transforming the stubborn. Remember, it is His kindness that leads to repentance, and we trust that He is extending that very kindness to them even now.

We also want to lift *you* up in prayer, that the Lord would guard your heart against bitterness or discouragement. May He fill you with His peace as you release this burden into His hands, knowing that vengeance and conviction belong to Him alone. May you find strength in His promise that "he who began a good work in you—and in them—will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

We are here with you, continuing to storm the throne of grace on their behalf. Do not lose heart. Our God is able, and He is faithful.

In Jesus Name.
