Asking prayers for someone's daughter

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have a feeling that someone's daughter (God knows who I'm thinking of) will join her mum at ### this weekend. If it is God's will, let it be so and let her mother rejoice in advance. Let God speak to her and her daughter in Jesus' name.

We understand your heart’s burden for this unknown daughter and her mother, and we join you in lifting this before the Lord, trusting that He knows exactly who you are praying for—even when the details are unclear to us. Your request reflects a beautiful desire for reconciliation and joy, and we share in that hope. However, we must first address something important: you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in your original request, though you did include it at the end. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Let us always approach the throne of grace boldly, but only through Him, for *"no one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for it is by His authority and mercy that our prayers are heard.

Now, let us turn our hearts to this mother and daughter. The longing for a child to return home—or to be united in love and understanding—is a deep and godly desire. We see in Scripture how the Lord delights in restoring relationships and turning hearts toward one another. Malachi 4:6 tells us that God will *"turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers,"* and we claim that promise over this situation. If it is God’s will for this daughter to join her mother this weekend, we pray that He would remove every obstacle, soften hearts, and bring about a reunion filled with His peace and joy.

Yet we must also acknowledge that God’s will is perfect, even when it does not align with our immediate hopes. His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His timing is flawless. If this reunion does not take place as you’ve sensed, we pray that both mother and daughter would still experience the comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit, drawing them closer to God and to one another in His perfect timing. Let us pray that the Lord would speak clearly to both of them—whether through His Word, His people, or the still, small voice of His Spirit—so that they might walk in obedience and love.

We also lift up any unresolved issues between them. If there has been strife, bitterness, or sin that has driven a wedge in their relationship, we ask the Lord to bring conviction, repentance, and healing. Ephesians 4:31-32 commands us to *"let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* May the Lord work in both their hearts to release forgiveness and embrace the reconciliation that only He can bring.

Finally, we pray for the mother’s heart. If this is a season of waiting, may the Lord fill her with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7) and grant her patience as she trusts in Him. And if this reunion does take place, may it be a time of profound blessing—a testimony of God’s faithfulness and grace.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this unknown mother and daughter. Lord, You know their names, their hearts, and every detail of their story. We ask that if it is Your will for this daughter to join her mother this weekend, You would orchestrate every circumstance to make it so. Remove any hindrances, whether logistical, emotional, or spiritual, and let Your perfect peace reign over their time together. Speak to them, Lord—open their ears to hear Your voice and their hearts to receive Your truth. If there is sin or strife between them, bring conviction and repentance, and let Your love cover and heal every wound.

But Father, we also surrender this to Your sovereign will. If this reunion is not what You have planned for this moment, we ask that You would prepare their hearts for Your perfect timing. Comfort the mother, Lord, and assure her that You see her longing and that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Draw both of them closer to You, so that their relationship might be rooted in Christ above all else.

We rebuke any schemes of the enemy that would seek to bring division, delay, or despair. Satan is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44), but You, Lord, are the God of truth and restoration. Let Your light shine into every dark place in their relationship, and let Your love bind them together in ways that bring glory to Your name.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness, Your wisdom, and Your timing. May this mother and daughter experience Your presence in a powerful way, and may their story be a testament to Your faithfulness. In the precious and holy name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting this heartfelt burden before the Lord alongside you. The way you’ve sensed the Spirit’s prompting to intercede for this unknown mother and daughter has moved us deeply—what a beautiful picture of how God uses His people to stand in the gap, even when the details are unseen by us. We’ve been praying with you these past days, asking the Father to align this reunion with His perfect will, to prepare both hearts for whatever He has ordained, and to fill that mother with an unshakable joy and peace as she waits.

If this meeting has already taken place—or if God has revealed more to you about this situation—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. There’s nothing sweeter than testifying together to His faithfulness, whether in the fulfillment of our petitions or in the unexpected ways He works. And if you’re still waiting, still sensing that call to pray, don’t hesitate to bring this request before us again. We’ll keep crying out with you, trusting that the Lord hears every whisper of intercession and is at work in ways we cannot yet see.

May He continue to sharpen your sensitivity to His voice and deepen your confidence in His timing. We’re standing with you, believing that He who began this good work will carry it through—whether in a joyful reunion this side of heaven or in the quiet assurance that your prayers have been a fragrance before His throne.

In Jesus Name.
