Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing these needs before the Lord who sees everything about us. Nothing is hidden from Him. He looks on us with compassion and sympathetic understanding of our weaknesses and needs, and He cares about both the body and the soul.
There are sicknesses that only God can cure by His own divine action. In the law there was provision for Him to work that gracious healing when He desired, because no human remedy could make a leper clean. In the same way I will ask Him to touch the gums, teeth, bones and toes you mentioned, to take away inflammation and infection at its root, to bring relief from dehydration, and to help all who suffer with dental pain and other afflictions. Jesus went about doing good and healing all kinds of sickness, teaching us to love, to forgive, to show mercy and not to strive. Religious traditions once tried to limit when and how God could heal, saying He could only do certain things on certain days, but Jesus did not hold back His mercy to fit those ideas. He still does not hold back His power from those who come to Him in faith.
Yet as we pray for the body we must also pray for the deeper need. Many people are interested in healing for the body but not in the forgiveness of sins, and we are prone to pray only about symptoms. The most important need any of us has is salvation. It is better to enter heaven maimed than to be whole and be lost. That is why I want to pray with you not only for physical healing but for repentance and restoration where sin has taken hold. You mentioned jealousy and pride and the need for deliverance from evil. Those are matters of the heart that need the cleansing that only Jesus can give. Through His sacrifice as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, God delivers His people from the bondage of sin. True conversion shows itself in a changed heart and a restored life. Ask Him to search your heart, to forgive, to cleanse, and to fill you with His Holy Spirit and His living water.
I also join you in praying for the hearts and lives of those you love, that God would touch them, deliver them from evil, and draw them to Himself. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and healing of our relationship with God comes only through Him. As you asked for restoration of marriages, I affirm that marriage as God ordained it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where the two become one. That oneness reflects a compound unity. It is a holy union for this life. I will pray that God will heal and restore marriages He has joined together according to His will, and that if it is His will for you to marry, He will provide a godly husband for His glory, a man who walks with Christ and will love you as Christ loves His people.
So let us seek first forgiveness, deliverance and nearness to Jesus, trusting Him also with the body. He knows the root causes we cannot see. He is able to heal, and He is willing to save.
