Asking for prayers for unrepentant Christians

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have some fellow Christians on my heart (God knows them!!) who are bound in some sins like drinking alcohol and have been hurting me in the last period, and have refused to admit their mistakes. Please pray in Jesus' name that their spiritual eyes will be opened to the truth and that they will be able to understand the truth fully. May their hearts not tolerate sin, and may God change their hearts so that they won't participate in provoking other fellow Christians.....AMEN IN JESUS NAME

We join you in lifting up these fellow believers who have strayed from the path of righteousness, and we are grateful you have brought this burden before the Lord in the name of Jesus. It is heartbreaking when those who claim the name of Christ remain entangled in sin, especially when their actions bring harm to others. The Word of God warns us in **Hebrews 3:12-13**, *"Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called ‘today’; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."* Sin is deceptive, and when left unchecked, it hardens the heart, blinds the eyes, and leads to destruction. The fact that these individuals refuse to acknowledge their wrongdoing is a sign of spiritual blindness, and we must pray fervently for their repentance.

We also recognize the pain they have caused you, and we urge you to forgive them as Christ has forgiven you. **Colossians 3:13** tells us, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Forgiveness does not excuse their behavior, but it releases you from the bondage of bitterness and allows God to work in their lives. At the same time, we must not enable sin by remaining silent. If these individuals are true believers, they need loving but firm rebuke. **James 5:19-20** says, *"Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins."*

Alcohol, when consumed in excess, is a snare that leads to poor judgment, strife, and further sin. **Proverbs 20:1** warns, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* If these individuals are drunkards, they are in danger of not inheriting the Kingdom of God, as **1 Corinthians 6:9-10** makes clear: *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom."* This is a serious matter, and we must pray for their deliverance with urgency.

As for their refusal to admit their mistakes, this is a sign of pride, which God resists. **Proverbs 28:13** says, *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* Pride keeps a person in bondage, but humility before God brings freedom. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit convicts them deeply of their sin, that they may turn from it in genuine repentance.

Now, let us lift them up together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for these brothers and sisters who have been ensnared by sin. Lord, You alone can open their spiritual eyes and soften their hardened hearts. We ask that You remove the scales from their eyes, just as You did for Saul on the road to Damascus, so they may see the truth of their condition. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and grant them a spirit of repentance. Let them no longer be deceived by the pleasures of sin, but may they turn from their wicked ways with godly sorrow.

Father, we rebuked the spirit of drunkenness that has taken hold of them. Break its power in their lives, Lord, and set them free from this bondage. Let them no longer be slaves to alcohol or any other sin, but may they walk in the freedom that Christ purchased for them on the cross. Remove from them the spirit of pride that keeps them from admitting their faults. Humble them, Lord, and bring them to a place of brokenness before You.

We also pray for our sister who has been wounded by their actions. Heal her heart, Lord, and fill her with Your peace. Give her the strength to forgive as You have forgiven her, and protect her from bitterness or resentment. Surround her with godly counsel and support, and let her not be discouraged, but may she continue to trust in Your justice and mercy.

Lord, we ask that You place godly people in the lives of these straying believers—people who will speak the truth in love and hold them accountable. Let them not be influenced by the world but be transformed by the renewing of their minds through Your Word. Restore them, Father, and use this trial to refine them, that they may come forth as gold, purified and holy before You.

We declare that no weapon formed against Your children will prosper. Satan has sought to use these individuals to bring division and pain, but we stand against his schemes in the name of Jesus. Let these wayward believers be restored to fellowship with You and with the body of Christ. May their repentance be genuine, and may their lives bear fruit worthy of repentance.

Finally, Father, we ask that You use even this difficult situation for Your glory. Let it be a testimony of Your power to save, to heal, and to restore. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

In the precious and mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in the gap for these wayward brothers and sisters. It's tough to see fellow believers entangled in sin, especially when it hurts those around them. We're reminded of Paul's words in Romans 12:15, "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." Your heartache is real, and we feel it too.

Let's pray that God opens their eyes to see the truth of their situation, just as He did for the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:16). May they recognize Jesus in the breaking of the bread, in the fellowship, and in the love we share as a body of Christ. Let's ask God to soften their hearts, to grant them a spirit of repentance, and to fill them with a desire to turn away from their sin.

For those struggling with alcohol, let's pray for deliverance. We know the power of addiction, but we also know the power of our God. Let's ask Him to break the chains of alcoholism, to heal their bodies, and to restore their minds. May they find freedom in Christ and walk in newness of life.

And for you, dear friend, let's pray for healing and strength. Forgive as you've been forgiven, and trust that God is working in the lives of these wayward believers. Surround yourself with love and support, and remember that God sees your pain and is close to the brokenhearted.

Let's declare together, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me, declares the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
