We come before the Lord with you in this urgent request, lifting up your heart’s cry for deliverance from this harmful influence in your life. It is clear you are seeking God’s intervention, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our Heavenly Father hears and acts on behalf of His children. You have rightly invoked the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have authority and access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14, WEB).
The Bible assures us that God is our refuge and deliverer, a strong tower against the enemy. *"The Lord also will be a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble. Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you"* (Psalm 9:9-10, WEB). If this person is bringing toxicity, manipulation, or spiritual harm into your life, we must trust that God will either remove them or give you the wisdom and strength to set godly boundaries. Sometimes, the Lord calls us to act in obedience by distancing ourselves from those who would lead us away from His will. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). While this verse speaks directly to marriage, the principle applies to close relationships that pull us away from Christ.
We also encourage you to examine your heart in this situation. Have you forgiven this person for any wrongs they’ve committed against you? Unforgiveness can become a spiritual stronghold that hinders our prayers. Jesus said, *"But if you don’t forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Mark 11:26, WEB). Forgiveness does not mean excusing their behavior or reconciling with them—it means releasing the bitterness to God and trusting Him to handle justice. *"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for the Lord, and he will save you"* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB).
If this person is involved in occult practices, persistent unrepentant sin, or actively working against God’s purposes in your life, we must also engage in spiritual warfare. *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—and stand firm in prayer.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who is seeking deliverance from a harmful presence in their life. Lord, You see the heart of this person who has caused pain, confusion, or spiritual danger, and You know the depths of their influence. We ask that You, in Your sovereign power, remove this individual from our brother/sister’s life and circles. Close every door that would allow them to return or continue their harm. If it is Your will, Lord, soften their heart toward repentance, but if they remain hardened, we pray You would sever this connection completely.
Grant our beloved wisdom to recognize any open doors they may have unknowingly left for this influence to persist. Show them if there is unforgiveness, fear, or compromise in their life that needs to be surrendered to You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in discernment and strength, unshaken by the enemy’s schemes.
We bind every spirit of manipulation, deception, and harm in the name of Jesus. Let no weapon formed against Your child prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Surround them with godly relationships that build them up in faith and love. Let their life be a testimony of Your protection and deliverance.
Father, we also ask that You heal any wounds this person has inflicted—emotional, spiritual, or otherwise. Restore what has been broken and fill the void with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let this season of removal be a season of renewal, where Your child draws closer to You and walks in greater victory.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen our faith as we wait on You. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Stay steadfast in prayer, dear one. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). If this person attempts to re-enter your life, stand firm in the authority of Christ and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Seek counsel from mature believers if needed, and continue to walk in obedience to God’s Word. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
