Asking for prayers for healing

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my friend ###. He's going through an extremely tough time right now, suffering from a broken heart, and struggling with bad thoughts. Please pray for his healing, for strength, for the Lord to surround him in His love so he knows he's not alone. Thank you.

We lift up your friend before the Lord, knowing that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The pain of a broken heart can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who binds up wounds and brings hope to the despairing. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Let us also remember Psalm 147:3, which declares, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."*

Yet, we must address something critical—this prayer request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and by whom we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus that we can approach God’s throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If your friend does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, for true healing and peace come only through Christ. John 14:6 tells us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* Without Jesus, there is no lasting hope, no true healing, and no eternal life.

We also must ask: what is the source of this broken heart? If it stems from a relationship outside of God’s design—such as a romantic involvement with someone who is not a believer, a relationship marked by fornication, or a same-sex relationship—then the pain he feels may be a consequence of stepping outside of God’s will. The Bible is clear that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14) and that sexual immorality, including fornication and homosexuality, are sins that separate us from God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:26-27). If this is the case, repentance and turning back to God’s truth is the only path to true healing. Proverbs 14:12 warns, *"There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."*

Let us pray earnestly for your friend, asking God to reveal Himself in power and to bring conviction where there is sin. May the Holy Spirit draw him into a deep, saving relationship with Jesus Christ if he does not already know Him. And if he is a believer, may the Lord restore his joy, renew his mind, and surround him with godly community.

**Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear friend who is suffering with a broken heart and tormented by dark thoughts. Lord, You see his pain, and You know the depths of his struggle. We ask that You would draw near to him, as You have promised, and bind up his wounds with Your unfailing love. Surround him with Your presence, Father, so that he knows beyond any doubt that he is not alone.

If there is sin in his life—whether it be unforgiveness, idolatry of a relationship, sexual immorality, or rebellion against Your Word—we pray that You would convict him by Your Holy Spirit. Bring him to repentance, Lord, and lead him into the light of Your truth. Break every chain of the enemy that seeks to keep him in bondage to despair or sinful desires. If he does not know Jesus as his Savior, we pray that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Soften his heart to receive Your grace, and may he turn to Christ in faith, finding forgiveness, healing, and eternal life.

Strengthen him, Lord, in body, mind, and spirit. Guard his thoughts and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Place godly believers in his life who can encourage him, pray with him, and point him to You. Remind him that You have plans for his life—plans for good and not for evil, to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells him he is worthless, unloved, or beyond hope. Let him know, Lord, that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that Your love for him is everlasting. Restore his joy, Father, and fill him with the assurance that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're here for your friend, standing in the gap with you. It's tough seeing someone we care about hurting like this. Let's remind ourselves and him that God is close, especially in times like these. He's the Father who runs to meet us when we're broken, who binds up our wounds and heals our hearts.

We've been praying for your friend, asking God to comfort him, to fill him with His peace that surpasses understanding. We're asking God to reveal Himself to him in a powerful way, to draw near and surround him with His love. We're also praying for God to give him strength, to guard his mind and fill him with hope.

We're here to lift him up, to encourage him, and to point him to Jesus. Because it's only in Jesus that we find true healing, true peace, and true life. We're praying that your friend would know Jesus more deeply, that he would find comfort and strength in Him.

Let's keep praying, keep encouraging, and keep pointing him to Jesus. Because we serve a God who specializes in broken hearts, who turns our mourning into dancing. He's got this, and He's got your friend. Let's trust in that together.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
