Asking for Prayer During a Difficult Season

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I humbly ask for your prayers during a very difficult season of my life. I have been struggling with what I believe are intense spiritual attacks that have affected my mind, my peace, and my ability to stay focused on the purpose God has placed in my heart.

I sincerely desire to serve God faithfully, live according to His will, and use the businesses and projects I am working on to create honest value for people, strengthen communities, and contribute positively to society. Yet I often find myself battling fear, temptation, discouragement, distraction, and spiritual oppression.

Please pray that God will strengthen my faith, protect me from every form of evil, fill me with His wisdom and discernment, and keep my heart humble. I also ask for prayers that He will forgive me for my sins, reveal any areas where I need to repent, and help me forgive those who have hurt me, just as Christ has forgiven us.

Above all, I pray that God's will—not my own—be accomplished in my life. May everything I do bring glory to Him, serve others with integrity, and honor Jesus Christ.
Thank you for taking the time to pray for me. May God bless you abundantly.

We hear your cry for help in this difficult season, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The spiritual attacks you describe are real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your peace, purpose, and faith. But we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to distort your identity in Christ, your calling, and your worth. You are not defined by fear, temptation, or discouragement, you are defined by the blood of Jesus, which has overcome the world.

We pray that the Lord will fortify your mind with His truth, shielding you from the fiery darts of the evil one. May the helmet of salvation guard your thoughts, the breastplate of righteousness protect your heart, and the sword of the Spirit, God’s Word, be your weapon against every attack (Ephesians 6:10-18). We ask that He fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that He renew your strength like the eagle’s so you may run and not grow weary, walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). Let His wisdom and discernment guide your steps, revealing His will with clarity and purpose.

We also lift up your request for forgiveness and repentance. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess them (1 John 1:9). We pray that He will search your heart and reveal any areas where you need to turn away from sin, whether in thought, word, or deed. May you walk in the freedom of His forgiveness, extending that same grace to those who have wronged you, just as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13). Unforgiveness is a heavy burden, but the Lord calls us to release it so we may be free.

Your desire to serve God faithfully and use your work for His glory is commendable. We pray that He will bless your businesses and projects, that they may bear fruit for His kingdom and bring hope to those you serve. May your labor be a testimony to His goodness, and may you find joy in knowing that your work is not in vain when done for the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58). We ask that He surround you with godly counsel and community, lifting you up when you are weak and encouraging you to press on.

Above all, we join you in praying that God’s will, not your own, be accomplished in your life. Surrendering to His plan is the path to true peace and fulfillment. May everything you do bring glory to His name, and may you walk in the fullness of His purpose for you. We declare that the Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear? The Lord is the stronghold of your life, of whom shall you be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking that You would strengthen their faith and shield them from every scheme of the enemy. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, granting them wisdom, discernment, and unwavering trust in Your promises. Reveal any areas of sin in their life and lead them to repentance, that they may walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness. Help them to forgive others as You have forgiven them, releasing any bitterness or resentment. Lord, we ask that You bless their work and use it for Your glory, that others may see Your love and truth through their efforts. May Your will be done in their life, and may they find their strength and identity in You alone. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Stand firm in the Lord, dear one. The battle belongs to Him, and He has already won the victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and do not grow weary in doing good. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). You are not alone in this fight, we are praying for you, and the body of Christ stands with you. Press on, for your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

We hear in your request a sincere heart that genuinely wants to honor God, and also a weariness from a prolonged battle with fear, distraction, and discouragement. When those things press in, it can feel as if the very purpose you're pursuing is at risk. But the struggle itself is not a sign that God has withdrawn. Often it's the opposite: the enemy pushes hardest where the most good is about to be done.

You mentioned wanting help to forgive those who have hurt you. That's such a concrete step, and it doesn't usually happen all at once. Sometimes the real work starts with a simple, honest decision: "I choose not to pursue revenge or hold this against them," even when the hurt feelings haven't caught up yet. You can make that choice today, as a deliberate act, and leave the healing of the emotions in God's hands. That's not pretending it doesn't hurt, it's refusing to let the hurt steer your life any longer.

Beyond that, we'd just encourage you to remember that your faithfulness is measured not by how few battles you face but by whom you keep turning to in the middle of them. You don't have to fight for God's approval. You already have it in Christ. So when your mind is under siege and your peace feels thin, you can stop scrambling and simply rest a moment in that truth.

Please pray with us?

Lord Jesus, we ask You to cover this brother with Your peace, the steady, quiet kind that holds firm when everything inside him feels unsettled. Protect his mind from every attack that would derail him. Give him clarity where there's confusion, courage where there's fear, and the ability to release old hurts into Your hands, step by step. Guard his heart, guide his work, and let Your will, and Your will alone, be done in and through his life. We ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

The word you send is like the cry of Jacob, "Deliver me, I pray You, from the hand of my brother... for I fear him." There were both nature and Grace, belief and unbelief, fear and faith battling together in his soul, and so it is with you. You feel the hand of the enemy pressing upon your mind and your spirit faints within you. Yet even this trembling is not all loss, for faith may use fear as a dog uses a barking sheep to drive the flock closer to the Shepherd.

Observe, then, that your fear is not a mark of God's absence, but often the shadow that His coming light casts before Him. Noah was moved with fear, and that fear, begotten of faith, produced an obedience by which he saved his house. You are afraid of being overcome, afraid of distraction, afraid your work will crumble into vanity. That is well, if the fear drives you to the promise. Jacob’s faith was a struggling faith, a mixture of "I fear Esau" and "You said." Your faith must take hold of the very same garment: "You said, I will put My fear in their hearts; a new heart will I give you." From every evil good has come, and the more the evil has accumulated the more God has glorified Himself in bringing out at last His grand design. He is in one mind, and who can turn Him? What His soul desires, that He does. Not one purpose for your salvation has altered since He saw you ruined in the fall.

As for forgiveness, let there be no dark questionings. There is forgiveness since Jesus died, the Just for the unjust. It is obtained only from God through Christ, but it is an unlimited forgiveness, the first link in an endless chain of mercies. If you get it, you become His child, His beloved; He will teach you, care for you, keep you, and in due time bring you to Heaven. And here is the admirable design, this very forgiveness is given that He may be feared. None love and praise God so much as those who know the sweet weight of His pardon. That fear you long for, the humble heart that hates sin, is woven into the same covenant. Where God grants full remission, He also puts His fear within as a wellspring of life.

You speak of forgiving those who have hurt you. I would press this upon you with the words of the Master: to overcome evil with good and to forgive to seventy times seven requires a faith as great as that which stopped the sun. And yet the foundation of such faith is your own forgiveness. Look to your Lord, who interposed His precious blood, and as you measure the infinite debt He cancelled for you, your own grievances against others will shrink into trifles. Cry out with the disciples, "Lord, increase our faith," for it is faith that enables a man to live a holy life and to forgive his neighbor from the heart.

When your soul asks, "Will He plead against me with His great power?" let faith reply with a firm "No." He will not break the bruised reed. Instead, He will put strength in you. When all peace seems gone and you feel flat and dull, do not run from the fire because you are cold. That is the hour to trust the Lord. He who rescued you from danger has heard your cry and will save you. The fear and the faith shall walk hand in hand for a while, until at last perfect love casts out the fear, and faith and love together usher you into the presence of your Lord with exceeding joy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of intense spiritual attacks, and you do well to ask for prayer, for this is the season of war. But do not imagine that the battle begins only when the blows fall and the mind is shaken. Tell me, do you bear manfully those who insult you? Do you bless them? If you cannot despise the small provocations of daily life for the sake of Christ, how shall you stand when the real phalanx breaks through? The soldier who waits for the enemy’s shout to polish his shield is already defeated. In this profound peace of your outward life, you must keep up the exercises of war. Every temptation, every distraction, every fit of fear is the broad and level plain where your faith is trained. Do not despise these small trials, for if you are not proven here, you become weak and an easy captive.

You say you desire to serve God faithfully and that His will, not your own, be done. This is a right prayer, but you must take care that you do not drag down what is spiritual to the lowness of your own reasonings. When the mind is oppressed and peace seems far off, the natural man pries into the “why” and invents frivolous difficulties, demanding a sign or a feeling of peace before he will believe that God is near. This is to trifle, to be drunken with anxiety. The submission of faith is what is required. Remember Sarah: fear came from her faith, not perfect confidence. God cleared out her unbelief, and then faith came in its place. So it is with you. Your very trembling proves that you take God at His word, like Noah, who was warned of things not seen as yet and moved with fear prepared an ark, while the world around him was marrying and giving in marriage under a clear sky. Reason suggested disaster was nonsense, but his fear was the engine of his salvation. So let this distress be the wood and pitch of your own ark.

You ask for protection and strength to forgive others. Hear then what is needed: “Peace and love with faith.” If you have peace with God, there will be love for others; but without a right faith, this love amounts to nothing. You cannot truly forgive the one who hurt you while you harbor secret carping in your heart, for that is to reject peace and draw down punishment upon yourself. This is why the Apostle commands that we set teachers and brethren forward “in peace, without fear,” causing no contentions. If you desire the peace of Christ to guard your mind, then let your forgiveness have nothing merely human or carnal in it, but let it be of a spiritual nature, thoroughly genuine, from the bowels of a father, even to those who have wronged you. This is no small part of your healing.

You feel too weak for the strong meat of perfect composure, and that is no cause for despair. The Apostle himself fed the carnal with milk because they were not able to bear solid food. God threatens punishment not to crush you, but so that a holy fear might destroy contempt and careless living. He does not wish you to undergo the actual trial of the shipwreck, only to be wakeful in the storm within. This season of your life is such milk. Receive it. The fear you feel is a tutor, keeping you humble and driving you to your knees. But do not remain there. The call is to grow, to “quit you like men, be strong.”

Above all, cling to the root of your faith, which is not a vague hope but a great fact. The angel sat upon the stone he rolled away, saying, “He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay.” The proof of your own future victory, your own peace, is not in your feelings but in that empty tomb. If you refuse to believe your own fickle heart, remember His steady words. And from that place, be prepared to bear good tidings to others, for in doing so your own fear will be scattered. Go into the Galilee of your daily work, freed from the suffocating upper-room of your dread.

Let all that you do be done in love. Watch, stand fast in that faith, for in your own wisdom it is impossible to stand and you are borne along like a twig in a flood. But “in the faith” you may stand firm. Hold fast to it with a cheerful confidence that the good things promised belong to you, and you will find the spiritual attacks lose their power. That is how you will build your business and projects into an ark that honestly serves others, not for your own glory, but to the saving of your own house and the strengthening of the community. Peace be multiplied to you through this trial.
