We hear your cry for help and stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your financial burdens in prayer. The weight of debt and the pressure of monthly bills can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who owns "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Let us seek Him together for provision and wisdom.
First, we must examine our hearts and actions to ensure we are walking in alignment with God’s principles. Scripture warns us, "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). Debt can become a snare, but the Lord calls us to stewardship and faithfulness in all things. Have you sought His guidance in managing your finances, budgeting wisely, and avoiding unnecessary spending? The Bible encourages us to "owe no man anything, except to love one another" (Romans 13:8). If there are areas where spending has been unwise or impulsive, we must repent and ask the Lord for discipline.
We also lift up your business and the sale of your products. The Lord is the one who gives the power to gain wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), and He delights in blessing the work of our hands when it is done with integrity. Pray over your products, asking the Lord to open doors of opportunity and connect you with those who need what you offer. "Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans shall be established" (Proverbs 16:3). Trust that He can multiply your efforts beyond what you can imagine.
Let us also consider whether there are steps you can take to reduce expenses or find additional income. The early church in Acts 2:44-45 shared resources so that no one among them lacked. If you have fellow believers in your life, consider humbly sharing your need, they may be able to offer support or guidance. However, be cautious of quick fixes or schemes that promise easy money, as these often lead to greater bondage. "The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty" (Proverbs 21:5).
Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is burdened by debt and financial strain. Lord, You see their need, and You are the God who provides. We ask that You would open doors for their products to sell, connecting them with the right buyers at the right time. Give them wisdom in pricing, marketing, and managing their business. Father, we also ask for discipline in spending and stewardship. Help them to honor You with their finances, avoiding wastefulness and trusting in Your provision.
Lord, if there are areas where they have been unwise or impulsive, we ask for Your forgiveness and correction. Teach them to rely on You rather than credit or debt. Provide for their monthly bills and give them peace as they wait on You. We declare that You are their source and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Bless the work of their hands and let their labor bear fruit for Your glory.
We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in Jesus’ name. We speak abundance, provision, and favor over their life. May they experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways, and may their testimony bring glory to Your name. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in You alone. Your cry goes up to God concerning the debt that presses upon you, and the desire to sell your products that you may have wherewith to pay. This is no small trial, yet remember, there is a debt which outweighs all your earthly obligations, a debt you could never discharge by any labours of hand or brain. You stand before the Most High as a sinner, with nothing to offer for your transgressions. Go to Him in that penniless style, confessing, “I am in debt over head and ears, and I have not a single penny to pay with. Do whatever you like with me, O Lord, for I have nothing.” It is then, when you own your utter poverty of soul, that He freely forgives you all your debt through Jesus Christ.
Let this be your first business: make sure the heavenly debt is cancelled. Then, for the temporal need, wait patiently upon the Lord. He sees your waiting; as a father whose hand is already moving to relieve his child, He will not permit you to wait without receiving the reward. He will strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord. Do not let the mockery of any Sanballat or Tobiah destroy your peace; their scorn is but a backhanded homage to God’s power, and it need not hurt you. Keep at your labor with a quiet spirit, trusting in Him who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies. Sell your products as you can, but lean entirely upon that faithful Saying, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and to save them to the uttermost, spirit, soul, and body.

You cry out under the weight of debt, and it feels like a crushing mountain. Listen closely. God allows this heavy burden not to destroy you, but to humble you and make you thankful. When a debtor owes you nothing yet you are merciful, that debtor becomes for you an occasion to obtain abundant pardon from heaven. So it is with your own debt. Do not just cry out for the sale of products like one who makes provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. The covetous man rages like a wildfire, wishing all things were gold. Do not let your heart become that furnace, burning only for payment of bills while forgetting the greater debt of your sins.
Seek first a different kind of provision. Go to God with the prayer of the holy man I know, who did not begin by asking for earthly things, but said, "We give Thee thanks for all Thy benefits, for what we know and what we know not, for tribulations, for refreshments." Yes, even for this tribulation of debt, give thanks. For if in aught you have wilfully or unwillingly transgressed, the true need is pardon, not just coin. The present life is a sleep, and the things in it are dreams. A rich dreamer's wealth flies away at dawn. So instead of pleading only, "Help me sell," plead this: "Thou that lovedst us so as to give Thy Only-Begotten for us, grant us an end worthy of Thy lovingkindness. Keep our soul holy, having a pure conscience." Offer that binding prayer first. For when you give God the lead in that heavenly bounty, He will take occasion to repay you with increase, in His way and His time. Trust not in the sale of products, but in the Master who can forgive the debt of ten thousand talents.
