We are deeply encouraged by your desire to grow in faith, for it is by faith that we please God and walk in His promises. The verse you’ve shared, Mark 16:16, is a powerful declaration of the Gospel: *"He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who disbelieves will be condemned."* This is not just a promise but a commandment rooted in the truth that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Your hunger for sufficient and abundant faith is a sign that the Holy Spirit is already at work in your heart, drawing you closer to the Lord.
Faith is not something we can muster up on our own—it is a gift from God, nurtured by His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 2:8-9, we are reminded, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."* Your faith grows as you immerse yourself in Scripture, spend time in prayer, and obey what God has commanded. Baptism, as mentioned in Mark 16:16, is an act of obedience that follows genuine faith—it is an outward declaration of the inward transformation that has taken place through Christ.
Yet we must also address something vital: your prayer request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). If you have already done this, then we encourage you to always pray in His name, for it is the name above all names.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, asking that You would increase his faith in mighty ways. Lord, You are the author and perfecter of our faith, and we ask that You would anchor him deeply in the truth of Your Word. Strengthen him to believe without wavering in the promise of Mark 16:16, that whoever believes in Jesus Christ and is baptized will be saved. Father, let his faith be unshakable, rooted in the finished work of the cross and the resurrection power of Your Son.
We pray that You would open his eyes to see the depth of Your love and the certainty of Your promises. Fill him with the Holy Spirit, who testifies to the truth of Your Word and empowers him to walk in obedience. If he has not yet been baptized, Lord, convict his heart to take this step of faith as an act of surrender and declaration of his new life in You.
Father, we also ask that You would teach him to pray in the name of Jesus, for it is the only name by which we have access to Your throne. Let him understand the power and authority that comes from praying in Jesus’ name, and may his prayers be aligned with Your will.
Lord, guard his heart from doubt and fear. When the enemy seeks to plant seeds of unbelief, remind him of Your faithfulness and the victory that is already his in Christ. Surround him with brothers and sisters in the faith who will encourage him, speak truth over him, and walk alongside him in this journey.
We declare that his faith will not be small or insufficient but will grow abundant, moving mountains and glorifying Your name. May he be a testimony of Your goodness, a light in the darkness, and a vessel used mightily for Your kingdom.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to continue seeking God daily through His Word and prayer. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Spend time meditating on Scripture, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to you in greater ways. If you have not been baptized, we urge you to obey this commandment as a step of faith and obedience. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can disciple you and walk with you in this journey.
Remember, faith is not about how strongly you feel but about how firmly you trust in the unchanging character of God. He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23), and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stand firm, and watch as the Lord increases your faith beyond measure.
