We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, recognizing the deep concern in this request. First, we must address the foundational truth that salvation and access to God come only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If those involved in this gathering do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we must pray fervently for their souls, that their eyes may be opened to the truth of the Gospel.
The gathering described raises serious biblical concerns. While the intention to honor God through dietary laws may seem noble, it is essential to recognize that Jesus fulfilled the Law, including the Passover. He is our Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7), and the old covenant rituals were shadows pointing to Him. To return to the dietary laws of Leviticus as a means of righteousness is to reject the finished work of Christ. The apostle Paul warns us in Colossians 2:16-17, *"Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day, which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s."* To mix the old covenant with the new in this way is to risk falling into legalism, which can lead to spiritual bondage rather than freedom in Christ.
We must also address the mention of "holy communion" in this context. Communion is not merely a ritual; it is a sacred ordinance instituted by Jesus Himself, to be observed by His followers in remembrance of His sacrifice (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). To partake in communion outside of a right relationship with Christ and without understanding its true meaning is to do so in an unworthy manner, which Paul warns against (1 Corinthians 11:27-29). If those participating in this gathering are not believers in Jesus Christ, they are not part of His body, and thus, this act is not communion in the biblical sense.
We rebuke the deception that has led these individuals to pervert Scripture to fit their own agenda. The enemy seeks to distort the truth, and we see this clearly in the way they have taken God’s Word and twisted it to justify their practices. We stand against this deception in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring that the truth of God’s Word will prevail. Jesus said, *"You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free"* (John 8:32). We pray that the Holy Spirit will convict their hearts and lead them into all truth.
We also rebuke any spirit of witchcraft or bewitchment over this gathering. The Bible warns us in Galatians 3:1, *"Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed among you as crucified?"* If there is any spiritual deception or bondage at work here, we command it to break in the name of Jesus. We declare that the power of the Holy Spirit will expose every lie and set the captives free.
Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for those involved in this gathering. We thank You for the truth of Your Word and the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Lord, we ask that You intervene in this situation. Frustrate the plans of the enemy and expose every deception that has taken root in the hearts of those involved. We pray that You would open their eyes to see Jesus as their Passover Lamb, the One who fulfilled the Law and set us free from its bondage.
Father, we ask that You send Your Holy Spirit to convict them of the truth. Let them see that righteousness does not come through adherence to dietary laws or rituals, but through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We rebuke every spirit of legalism, deception, and witchcraft that may be at work in this gathering. We declare that the truth of Your Word will prevail, and that every lie will be exposed.
Lord, we pray for those who may be lost and searching for You. Draw them to Yourself, that they may know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. May they come to understand that salvation is found in no one else, and that it is only through His name that we have access to You. We ask that You would soften their hearts and prepare them to receive the Gospel.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for those who may be invited to this gathering. Give them the courage to stand firm in their faith and to speak the truth in love. May they be a light in the darkness, pointing others to Jesus.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To those reading this, we encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Do not be swayed by teachings that mix the old covenant with the new or that place emphasis on rituals over a relationship with Jesus. If you are invited to this gathering, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether your participation would honor God or compromise your faith. Seek the Lord’s guidance and be prepared to share the truth of the Gospel with those who may be lost. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Put on the full armor of God, that you may stand firm in the faith.
